I just read the first of the Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites books. Can't wait to get a hold of the rest.

I listened to that as a book on tape when I was like 12 years old. So..like 12 years ago. I remember because we listened to it when we were driving to Atlanta so my mom could get her endowments. I was 12 because it was the first time I went to do baptisms for the dead. It was the first time I had ever been to a temple. Very big time for me in my life...so obviously I would remember things about it.

I LOVED Tennis shoes! I've been wanting to get it on CD to listen to in my car...cuz I'm usually too busy to sit and read for fun, especially when I have three college classes and a volunteer training class to read and study for.

They did make a movie of the first three, and are ending it as a trilogy. The first one is on video, and I highly recommend it.

The second AMERICAN ZION, will be out on video this summer...also highly recommended.

The thrid, A HOUSE DIVIDED will be out in theatres by the end of the year sometime, probably in the fall.

The best thing about these films has to be Jonathan Scarfe's protrayal of Joseph Smith. I think its right on the money, and certainly is incredible.

However, none of these movies has been 'successful' which is why they are ending after three. The have lost millions of dollars on each film, sadly.

I liked the movies a lot too. Jonathan Scarfe's Joseph was pretty good. I enjoyed it. But somehow, I thought there was something essential he lacked. It was almost as if you could tell that he didn't believe Joseph Smith was who he claimed to be. Like he thought it was bogus kinda. I don't know, you could say he was very close, but just barely missed the spirit of the whole thing, the conviction that Joseph would have portrayed.

I can't wait for the next one though, even though they kinda deviated from the plot, I loved the last one.

Kella, how many Tennis Shoes books have you read?! I've read all nine, and I can't wait for the next one! But I'm sad it will be the last. ๐Ÿ™

Francina, I'll make sure you get the next one tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Don't ask, it sounds something not pg-13........... ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

An ancient civilization that lived on the American continents, named after Nephi, a prophet and leader who' s writings of his days are recorded in the Book of Mormon.

Wow Storm...spot on.

And Eis...if you are forced to endure the LDS religion...you should have every idea of who the Nephites are. It's a huge part of the LDS church. Knowing what Nephites and Lamanites are is kinda like knowing that humans breathe air...if you really do sit through LDS services.

And I've not read either, but I have listened to the first 2 I believe. Like I said, it's been 12 years since I heard the books on tape. We had borrowed it from one of the other women in the ward. My mom was looking for something spiritually uplifting to keep me entertained for the drive to Atlanta. We got John Bythway and Tennis shoes...and of course Primary Hymns. I was held back in Primary so I could perform two solos and three duets for the Primary Easter presentation. I used to be a great singer...ahh the good ol days.

Thanks. I really want to read it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm really looking forward to the weekend too. It means hanging out with sorely missed friends and learning how to drive without crashing into Ashley's mom. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ ๐Ÿ˜† That really scared me.

No fair! I have to start school at the regular time and I still have school Monday.

Yes... I should be payed for all those times I refused to sing. If I hadn't, you'd be paying for ear surgery.

Am I forced to endure the LDS Religion? Yes. Do I know who the Nephites are? No.

Anyway my mormon church thing tonight wasn't that bad, in fact, yes. I had fun.
One of the mormon kids turned out to be really cool, and there's also this two bothers who are also forced to go but they're not really mormons... they are really fun. So, hell... Who would've thought.

But no yeah, mormons suck and all. ๐Ÿ˜

You still smokin that stuff????

So Mormon kids can't be cool? Wow... that's something new. I never realized that all my friends and I couldn't be cool.

And why condemn an entire group of people that share the same religion? That's like saying people with tattoos suck because you don't like tattoos.
