Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The last scene was epic.Final Fantasy VII didn't HAVE an ending. We just saw Red XIII and his cubs, and Windows 95 screensaver ripoff...
I disagree. An ending doesn't have to tie up all loose ends to be good. The FF7 ending was an excellent cliffhanger and very very poignient.
Spoiler:It's a beautiful ending, probably my second favorite of the FF endings.
when we see Aeris' face at the end fighting off the meteor with lifestream, and we realize her sacrafice I get choked up everytime.
I really liked FFXs ending.. (I still havent beaten it myself.. i got up to final sin and cant beat him yet -_-..) but I saw a friends saved game..
VII's ending wasnt so bad.. I liked MG Solids ending also..
If I had to pick an ending off the top of my head that I really liked.. it would be Diablo II : Lord of Destruction.. its like
Spoiler:I like that kind of questionable ending
the world stone seems to be the basis for the worlds existence.. whats going to happen now that its gone?.. did the world end?.. did it reset itself?..

Final Sin is easy, if you've gotten your party strong enough.
And I still stand at FFX. I've beaten it something like 4 times and I've still cried everytime, it's so sad yet so good.
I always thought the ends to MGS and to a lesser degree, MGS 2, were pretty special. Not necessarily due to story, but how it was ended. Scene, battle, characters and possible cliffhangers. It makes you feel like looking back through all you've experienced in the games. MGS remains the only game outside of Resident Evil's where you (or at least I) actually get semi-attached to the characters.
The Grey Fox death-scene was quite sad the first many times I saw it.
Resident Evil 4 ending is phenomenal, truly. Just puts the cap on the bottle and shakes it up ready for the next game.
