I was able to finally see Saw 1 and Saw 2 back to back the other day (borrowed them from a friend) and I must say they were both quite good. Saw 1 was especially good. When one thinks about it, most of the movie takes place entirely in the bathroom, yet it still remained very riveting. I really liked the ending to it too, when Dr. Gordon snaps and starts acting in such a crazy way. It was so tragic to just see him snap like that. What I mean is that I just felt so sad for him when he couldn't reach that cell phone in time, and suspecting his family was still in trouble finally sent him over the edge.
Saw 2 was great too, but not quite as much as the first one. I liked how the writers perfectly weaved certain aspects of the first movie into this one, particularly with some of the characters, and is not just disregarded it like so many sequels tend to do. And once again the surprise ending got to me. How cool it was to see Jigsaw plausibly win again, and this time with the assistance of Amanda.
Now I really look forward to Saw III. It'll be great to try and guess what the surprise ending will be this time.
On a side note, LizzyT123 I was wondering if I could ask you this, since looking at the previous posts you seem to know the most of the movies. Why exactly was the son in Saw 2 kept safely alive? Was it because he was the only one of the group who actually showed compassion to Amanda, and actually tried to protect her at times? Was it always Jigsaw's intention to keep him alive and safe, or was that something that Amanda may have influenced upon Jigsaw. Thanks.
