I'm sorry, I thought you meant the other guy who cut his foot off. I get there names mixed up.

In the first one, you saw Adam die though, didn't you? You didn't see Eric die.

Not that it matters, I was just wondering.

You didn't see Adam or Larry in the act of dying. You saw Adam dead in Saw 2 and assume as much of Larry.

Even though people think Larry was the gut who put the key behind the dude's eye. They were really convincing too, cuz like Jigsaw was hooked up to all that stuff and the guy wasn't and he limped on the little video. idk

Lots of people thought that and discussed it on the Saw message boards. Watch the commentary. They laughed at the idea. That was Darren Bousman doing the operation. He was limping just to give it some flavor.

A bit early isn't it? This year.

It's about the right time if they want a Halloween 2006 release.

Is this the last one or will there be a fourth?

They've been talking about this finishing the trilogy. Personally, I hope they go further and it's not unreasonable. I guess we'll have to wait to see how successful Saw 3 is.

If it's successful then maybe a 4th, but to be honest if they plan on finishing it on 3 and have Jigsaw or whoever killed then I guess there isn't a chance for a 4th. Unless they have someone carry on in Jigsaw's footsteps like they did with what's her name (I haven't seen the 2nd as you can tell).

I was able to finally see Saw 1 and Saw 2 back to back the other day (borrowed them from a friend) and I must say they were both quite good. Saw 1 was especially good. When one thinks about it, most of the movie takes place entirely in the bathroom, yet it still remained very riveting. I really liked the ending to it too, when Dr. Gordon snaps and starts acting in such a crazy way. It was so tragic to just see him snap like that. What I mean is that I just felt so sad for him when he couldn't reach that cell phone in time, and suspecting his family was still in trouble finally sent him over the edge.

Saw 2 was great too, but not quite as much as the first one. I liked how the writers perfectly weaved certain aspects of the first movie into this one, particularly with some of the characters, and is not just disregarded it like so many sequels tend to do. And once again the surprise ending got to me. How cool it was to see Jigsaw plausibly win again, and this time with the assistance of Amanda.

Now I really look forward to Saw III. It'll be great to try and guess what the surprise ending will be this time.

On a side note, LizzyT123 I was wondering if I could ask you this, since looking at the previous posts you seem to know the most of the movies. Why exactly was the son in Saw 2 kept safely alive? Was it because he was the only one of the group who actually showed compassion to Amanda, and actually tried to protect her at times? Was it always Jigsaw's intention to keep him alive and safe, or was that something that Amanda may have influenced upon Jigsaw. Thanks.

Okay, I'm pretty positive that keeping the son was Amanda and Jigsaw's intentions....He really did take care of Amanda, and she cared about him, vise versa. I'm actually not sure......it could have been that um, he had the survival instinct to kill a man, to save Amanda and himself. But I bet there were previous plans to keep him other than anyone else 🙂

The only reason he kept the son alive was so he could get his father into the puzzle, but he was so hot headed that he wouldn't listen to jigsaw.

but think about it. There's probably some HUGE scheme-y thing that Jigsaw made up to incorporate the boy and his father. I'm pretty sure he didn't just get the boy to get to his father. There's gotta be more than that!

The Saw 3 site is up. It's just a logo animation for now though.

I agree Lizzy. Watching the movie, it just always seemed to me like Jigsaw had something planned for the son, another one of his elaborate death traps, since Jigsaw could easily justify that the son was wasting his life too. But during the commotion at the house the son then showed an unexpected compassion to Amanda and actually cared for her. So it seems to me like Amanda purposely kept the son alive and away from Xavier, then after Xavier was killed she dropped the son off to Jigsaw (probably drugged him right after the Xavier incident with the same needle she would use on Walberg) and then explained the whole situation to Jigsaw so that Jigsaw wouldn't harm him. Without an explanation like that, it would just seem so strange as to why Jigsaw gave the son a pass. Anyways, just my theory.

I absolutely hate horror movies and I still enjoyed Saw II quite thoroughly.

Also have the full watchable (poor-ass-shit quality though) version in my profile.

Jigsaw only put the kid in the game to lure detective Matthews in and put him to the test, for he was the real sinner and thus target in Jigs' view. I guess Jig never had any fatal plans for the son, only for the father. He gave some clues away on that during their conversations.

but wouldn't you think there was a bit more in the plan with the kid? like, Amanda mentions in the end what she's going to do with him, so I'd have to think they had some plans for the kid while they had plans for the father
