COUNT DOOKU whirls his lightsaber in a formal salute. YODA
draws his lightsaber. Suddenly, COUNT DOOKU charges across
the space at YODA. He rains down blows upon the tiny
figure. YODA doesn't budge an inch. For the first part of
the contest, he parries every cut and thrust that COUNT
DOOKU aims. Nothing the great swordsman tries gets through.
His energy drains. His strokes become feeble, slower.
YODA attacks! He flies forward. COUNT DOOKU is forced to
retreat. Words are insufficient to describe the range and
skill of YODA's speed and swordplay. His lightsaber his a
humming blur of light. Finally, their blades cross and the
fighting slows.
Now watch the scene in the movies and Yoda clearly moves around at the beginning of the fight. And listen to Yoda after the fight, he is tired and Dooku is not.
Indeed; Traya, the original scripts for the movies are all well and good, but on some occasions, they are immensely worthless to the fights. And while that may have been the intention, the movie showed differently, and so the script's validity is negated for that scene, definately.
But, Traya is correct: Count Dooku would lose to a prolonged duel. I'm shocked you even consider otherwise.
a) Count Dooku, during the contest of the Force, initiated attacks such as throwing debris and hurling lightning. Yoda turned all away, and cast them aside. He was not looking to kill Dooku during this duel. As for the Force, it simply proves Yoda is capable of negating all of Dooku's Force assaults.
b) Count Dooku also was fearful during the duel. He was forced on the offensive; Yoda was quicker and even bested Dooku in the saber lock they had. Dooku, for once, didn't ever try to take the offensive during the duel, simply because it was hopeless.
c) Count Dooku fled the hangar, knowing Yoda was too powerful to defeat. And please don't feed me the lines about the 'Death Star plans'. Had that been the case, he wouldn't have messed around with Anakin or Obi-Wan.
Count Dooku will not go down easily, as he is a powerful swordsman and Force user. But he is simply not Yoda's equal in either fashion.
I really haven't decided. On one hand you can say Yoda but then again Dooku has more stamina which in the long run would assist him but then again Yoda may be too fast to hit but all you that say Yoda was besting Dooku in every blow, Dooku was doing better then Sidious.
I haven't decided on the outcome myself.
