Yoda vs. Dooku

Nice burn.

Yoda's style doesn't focus on defense and Dooku's is based on being able to defend and attack without much effort. If Yoda makes a wrong move -SLASH-

Let me put it to you like this. Count Dooku has just a great of a chance as Sidious does. Yoda would most likely defeat either of them in their respective duels, but it's not guarenteed. Dooku does have an excellent chance; but it would have to be in a saber battle. In a Force battle, he would lose against his master.

Its clear that Yoda will never use the force to attack with, only to repel force attacks.

Hmm...
An old witch, a dwarf and Ogami Itto stand before the Mirror of Truth. Everybody that tells a lie in front of the mirror gets obliterated immediatly.

Old Witch: "I think I'm the most beautiful woman in the world" *zap* she's gone
Dwarf: "I think I'm the greatest person in the world" *zap* he's gone.
Ogami Itto: "I think" *zap*

Back to the topic: Yoda will most likely win this.

Profile quote. Thanks!

This is ridiculous. "Battering at Dooku's defense" is clearly not the case. Watch the fight again. Dooku contends well with Yoda and even gets in quite a few hits of his own, despite the fact that Yoda has lots of room to work with.

I really really don't understand the point where Yoda jumped over him, bounced back, and then landed on the floor again. That was pointless.

1) Indeed he was battering at Dooku's defense. Dooku was going mostly defensive and Yoda was trying to break his defense, thus he was battering his defense.
2) Yes, Dooku does contend well but for the most part he is using defense while Yoda is trying to break his defenses.
3) You must remember, too, that in AOTC Yoda wasn't trying to kill but capture Dooku.

1) BS. I've watched the fight many times.

2) Uh, no, he's not. Watch it again. Just because Yoda moves like a top on crack doesn't mean he was doing very good. He actually MISSES a swipe.

3) Proof of this?

1.) Dooku's form is based on defending to allow his opponent to tire himself out
2.) Yoda's form is based on attack
3.) Dooku and Yoda traded basically equal amounts of attacks on one another if you watch closely
4.) Dooku wasn't tired after the fight and Yoda was

Also from the databank:

Finally, Jedi Master Yoda arrived and attempted to stop Dooku. Though Yoda's withering lightsaber attack nearly stopped the evil Jedi, Dooku was able to distract the diminutive master by endangering Obi-Wan and Anakin with a fallen pillar torn free by the Force.

Is this from starwars.com? Just watch the fight again.

4) Yoda was also moving around alot more, which explains why he was breating so hard.

1) LOL, Janus, watch it again. And again. Cause I've watched it many times too and I saw what happened and the the people who created the databank saw what happened.
2) Oh yes, he misses a swipe. And Dooku missses several swipes. Big deal. What're you trying to say, that Dooku'd win?
3) Janus, Obi-Wan was trying to capture him, why wouldn't Yoda be? Yoda clearly was, why else would his swings have not even been fatal had they hit Dooku? He wasn't trying to kill him in Dark Rendezvous either, so are you saying he was trying to in AOTC but not in DR?

Hey ESB, who's side are you on, mine or Janus's? Casue in your previous post your first two points were against Janus and your last 2 were against me.

look at dooku when he's fighting obi and ani! he looks confident! now look at him when facing yoda! he's shitting it! his defences are getting the battering of a lifetime!!

borbarad i noticed ur from europe!

hey janus is this what u call "peons" bowing down to their masters! 😂

what a pair of ****!!!

Meh, I don't feel like arguing with you, darthsith. You have preconceived notions of the truth and you rely only on information that helps your case. It's pointless, really.

He doesn't feel like arguing! his boss must have busted him rockin out on KMC 😂 😂

Are you dumb? Look again. Dooku's face is serious and Yoda is tiring himself down quickly.

Yoda and Dooku's Force Battle -

You can't even call this a battle. It's simply Dooku using the Force to try and smite his former master, and Yoda defeating the attempts, and then casting them aside. Yoda wasn't looking to fight his former apprentice. If you watch the Sidious and Yoda duel, you'll notice Yoda's intent during the battle. He openly employs the Force 'against' Sidious instead of simply defending his attacks.

Force battle victor: Yoda. And he wasn't even trying to attack Dooku.

Yoda and Dooku's Saber Battle -

Dooku challenged Yoda, who reluctantly drew his blade. Then, out of no where, Yoda screams into action and immediately takes the offensive, forcing Dooku to remain stationary as Yoda flips and 'batters' Dooku's defense. Dooku, like his master, keeps up expertly, and even manages to carry out some own strikes of his own, which unfortunately never land a hit. Dooku is repeatedly either being stationary or forced back repeatedly. It shows Dooku parry a strike from Yoda, but when he does, he leans back and grits his teeth, his eyes wide with that oh so familar emotion of 'fear'. Sidious, too, feared Yoda - but this does not keep from Dooku fighting back. Then, they get in a saber lock. And, oddly, Dooku is forced back as Yoda pushes him backward. They fight some more, and then engage in a final saber lock, and Yoda is panting, and tells Dooku he fought well. Dooku understands that now he must escape and does so by endangering Anakin and Obi-Wan. Yoda relents and saves his apprentices, and Dooku escapes.

Conclusion -

Yoda and Dooku are indeed compareable to Yoda and Sidious. While neither Sith Lord truly 'defeated' Yoda, they weren't stomped by him either. Both fought legitimate stalemates. But there are differences. Dooku's Force assaults were futile against Yoda, who only lashed back when Dooku sent the lightning (which Dooku repelled). In a contest of the Force, even to the greatest Dooku fan, it is obvious that Dooku would not win. In a saber battle, it would be close, but I'd still give it to Yoda. If not for any true superior skill, but moreso to his immensely superior speed and agility, and his small stature.

Dooku CAN win. But the odds are stacked against him and are in favor of Yoda.

If Dooku was throwing giant pods at Yoda it would make a difference and Yoda didn't even attempt to deflect Sidious's lighting the first round.

No. Yoda tried. But he was overpowered by Sidious's lightning. Sorry, Esb, but in Sith-traited Force powers, Dooku is weaker than Sidious. As for the pods, Yoda fought back. Again, Sidious was just quicker. But Yoda nearly nailed him with a pod he caught and threw back. You can't discredit the fight. No matter how you want to look at it.

Yoda actually overpowered Sidious' lightning. Yoda was maybe a foot from the edge though and Sidious was something like 6 feet and had a rail to grab on to.

Do you watch ROTS? Yoda threw up his hands to cover his face at the last second and got owned by the blast. Yoda didn't try to deflect it like he did the second time.
