The problem is they are pure metal. It's okay for Slayer and Metallica because they're old bands and have both innovated. New metal bands need to incorporate stuff from different genres in order to be interesting these days imo.

Btw, I'd replace that Prong album by Colors by Between the Buried and Me.

but nu nu metal is more traditional than nu metal

I take it that you classify them as heavy metal and every single song they've done sticks them in this one category? Aye okay.

I'm confident that I know more about music than you. For one, you seem to limit yourself to one genre, that being metal.

What a ridiculous comment. By that logic, Metallica might be a pop-rock band because they've done ''Nothing Else Matters''.

I classify TDEP as a metal band because their music fits the description of ''metal music'', it's that simple.

im not a huge metal fan

when im in work ill look up kerrang and metal hammer and road runner sometimes though 🙂

Nothing Else Matters sounds nothing like pop rock.

I have listened to some songs from TDEP that sound like yes it should have a core afterwards. I didn't invent the terms (hardcore, mathcore, grindcore) they're all there, and the music fits that description more than heavy metal IMO.
Obviously this really bothers you for some reason, but tbh you're the onlyperson/source that I've seen labeling them heavy metal.

I could try to get into the bar tonight and see my friends metal show.
