I'm only speculating here, but my guess is that John met with Billie and said "I really want this movie to be seen." For now this was the only way they could make it happen, and I believe John will keep agitating to make a DVD release happen. It's not that he "has no plans to release it" or doesn't want to. He just isn't able to now. At the after party, he asked how HLaHG compared with BIAB, and I will write a bit about that in the review we're going to publish on GDA, but for now I'll just say I basically told him I liked this movie better. He was so thrilled, he started yelling at all the people he knew - on the other side of the patio and wherever they happened to be standing- saying "Mine's better than Sam Bayer's!" over and over. I mean, he LOVES this movie and he put so much of himself into it. Everything he's done has been constrained or limited by "management" and I think it's amazing that he got to show it at all. As to Warner and their reasons for what they do, don't ask me ...

my cousin thinks he's an awesome singer

but it's just embarassing really
