I've heard elsewear that it was the lawyers and whatnot who made the big deal about the song being leaked and even the band were a bit surprised at their reaction. That's NOT to say however that they were happy it was leaked, obviously. I think the main point they were trying to make is that it's an old demo and won't sound like the finished version.

And I was honestly really pleased with it, more than I thought I would be. When we had the 50 second version I was pleased, but a little worried about a five minute song sounding like that. Now I love it. I think each section is brilliant, specially the bit in the middle. I'm looking forward to hearing the finished version and seeing the final lyrics.
