Nirvana opened the doors of grunge to the mainstream awehawe Green Day just happened to get popular around when Kurt died doesnt mean he opened anything for them. what the beatles was doing was new it was a new sound even though they stole that sound, thats why they're legendary, and its hard to be original nowadays cause its all been done before. no it wouldn't but the beatles do fall into this category. awehawe Green Day>Beatles

I figured the genre of music became popular when a band decided "Hey lets do something new" and then did it. If the type of music was hated then it would of stopped and no other bands would be like that. However people like new things.
