I never properly played VI, but I always wanted to. I had it on PS1 but somehow lost it at some point.

I've only played VII – X all the way through, X-2 killed it for me, I couldn't even get into XII, and that's meant to be a good one. Played bits of I, II, IV, V, and VI, but didn't get that far into them, I guess the graphics set-down was a bit too much for me at the time.

I really really want to replay IX, I tried the other year but my copy freezes right at the end of the intro (when you fight Steiner and the bomb appears)

The sorceress thing and the Rinoa being a sorceress thing is just kinda weird to me. When I was younger, I really liked Squall coz I was a troubled youth, but now, eh yeah, he's pretty whiny and emo. My favorite part is Ultimecia's Castle, so it's worth playing til the end for me. I love the spoopy castle and bosses~

I wonder if that's a common flaw for FFIX, because my copy also freezes a lot during cut scenes. Luckily, it usually just skips the cut scene, but I remember being very frustrated another time I played and it froze right as my party was entering Terra. SO ANNOYING.

Sucky thing is that just as it got the final cutscene with Squall wandering the wasteland and finding, my copy crashed, so to this day I've never seen how it ends 😐

Honestly though the freezing for my copy of IX makes total sense, I used to have no sense of safety for my discs and left them lying all over the shop, so they got really scratched and shit mhmm

FF IX was the first one I played actually, I just messed up on the Roman numerals like a total rem.

IX would be a great introduction either way, best one tied with VII imo
