So in this game, which was just notated in the previous post, I try to avert a bishop kamikaze setup by my opponent by moving my queen to e7.

Actually, the setup is probably 3 pronged.
The first is a 4 move mate threat.
Bishop kamikaze is actually an altered form of the 4 move mate, but it's the 2nd prong, nonetheless. The third prong is the threat of his knight forking my king and rook, preventing my castling and capturing my queen's rook for free.
He actually realizes that proposition later in the game. In the meantime, he forces my queen to give way to that knight ...
