Asking if dreams have any significanse is almost like asking if books or movies influence any significanse. Ofcourse they do, it's just not easy for all to see to what extent it is significant. And it doesn't matter, but earlier societies and people were far more interested in and familiar with the interpretations of signs (omens) in nature than we are today.

I actually own a dream encyclopedia thing 😬
Quite interesting actually
Interesting is one thing but dont take it literally.
far better off with the book that most of these things base themselves on -

I dunno...Dream deciphering can be amazingly accurate because much of the time your dreams are your subconcious trying to tell you something.
Unless you have a really overactive imagination and just have really bizarre dreams all the time (like I tend to do).
oh yeah, I had a completely INSANE dream once, when I was downtown searching for a chocolate shop, then my cousin walks up to me, in the middle of the street, in his pyjamas, and says 'will you help me find my program?' and shoves a tv guide in my face, so I take him home, and as we go through the park, he changes into someone I don't know, and some woman slaps me for walking off with her daughter!

😂 that's awesome! I've had so many bizarre dreams that when I dream about something halfway normal it's strange for me. I think my best one is where I dreamt I was flying and I flew into the side of my house...
Lucid dreaming is cool, I can sometimes do that 🙂

The only thing you can say for certain about dreams is that empirical statements like those will always be incorrect. Dreams are not a "reflection of our inner-strengths, weaknesses, troubles and thoughts" - tho sometimes certain aspects of some of our dreams might be.Dreaming that you are flying does not mean "that your on top of a situation"
DREAM-FACT is far from being a fact. Anyone who could PROVE THIS FACT could claim $1,000,000 from CSICOP because they could demonstrate psychic ability.
You can't Analise a strangers dreams with any degree of worth because different people react to archetypal symbolism in different ways.
Fascinating place our dream life and deserving of more attention than most people give it - but bunkum like this helps no-one.
You obviously know nothing about dreams 🙄. People do react different to symboles, but thats REACTING, it doesn't mean they think it symbolises something else.
To dream that you are flying DOES symbolise that you are on top of a situation. Dream researchers do say that you can pull someone into your dream.
That stuff does help people, if you understand your dreams then it can help to solve problems in your life. Also, you can anaylyse somebodys dream, I have told people what their dreams mean and all of thier reactions have been 'Holy shit! that is true!'
No offence but NEVER choose to be a dream researcher because you obviously know NOTHING about dreams 🙄
Really? Hmm, that's weird. These days I don't have many nightmares so when I do have on, I generally have to ride it out. 😬 Although sometimes I manage to force my eyes open. There seem to be two kinds of lucid dreams. Some I know are a dream so I'm not bothered by what happens in them, I just enjoy it. Others are cooler, where I actually have control of what happens in the dream, like just making something appear out of thin air. Although there is the disappointment that comes when you wake up and have to get back to reality. 😛

This is something I’m very interested in and would hate to see the thread closed down: So I will be my usual blunt self and If I cause any offence by saying something offensive and personal (I’m also going to suggest you don’t have a clue what you are talking about ) – I don’t mean to offend you either ? Deal?
You tell white eagle that its strange that he spins to wake up – because “doing that actually makes you stay in your dreams” -
He’s just finished telling you it wakes him up – and you tell him No, it makes you stay asleep and dreaming. That’s your idea of analysis? Someone tells you what ACTUALLY happens to them and you contradict them and tell them they are wrong. That’s the danger of a little knowledge.
Ignoring for the fact that “dream researchers say” is not a valid argument in any rational way – I’ll offer up another example of how it is of immeasurable benefit to have some indication of a person before you analyse their subconscious. My housemate dreams of wasps and hornets around once a month or so. Knowing nothing about her - what is your interpretation? Female energy and sisterhood perhaps? I’m curious what you think… I have my own theories – but then I know she was very badly stung as a child and ended up in hospital … irrelevant?
And me – I dream of flying on average 3 times a week – great delightful dreams of flying low over the ground, perhaps 20ft or so above the earth. Care to tell me what that means? Oh wait you already did – you told us that it means I’m “on top of the situation” – flying therefore flight therefore height therefore “on top” – stupid word association rather than psychology with any depth.
But if you then find out that I’m an artist by trade – with a background in jungian enquiry and have used Entheogenic Plants and Compensation Theory in my dreamwork – and have dream diaries going back 20 odd years to when I spent 6 months incapacitated and bed-ridden. Whats your analysis now? That “I’m on top of the situation”?
