I've heard it said that after you die, your life seems like a dream and NOW your afterlife seems real. I've also heard it said that that's why our loved ones don't come say good bye, so to say, cause it's like we've lost the importance to them.....

Since this is a site dedicated to movies I would suggest that you watch Waking Life. Its a great movies which is based on this very question. It was one of the few movies I have gone out of my way to buy. Plus if you are interested in learning to control your dreams you may be interested in a book called "Exploring The World of Lucid Dreaming". It gives advice on how to use your own dreams to learn more about yourself. Personally, I believe that dreams are ways that your subconscious reveals itself to you and also a way to interpret external stimilus during a unconscious state. I feel that dreams are important to remember and are a blast to have. As for how you know when your dreaming and not awake, some dreams are heard to tell because they seem so real. Awareness in a dreamstate is the way to realize this because when you become aware you can do amazing things. I love my dreams and always try to remember them, that is why I write many of them down as soon as I wake up. thanks for the question because I have been lacks in keeping up with my writing and now I will do it more often. If you pay attention to the symbolism of your dreams, you can get answers you've been waiting on from your unconscious mind. It really is neat to do. Everybody's symbolism is different, so many times dream books don't help..For instance, dreaming that your dialing a phone number, but can never get through, or it is busy and just frustrating, can mean that your having trouble communicating about something...Especially if it's a big part of your dream and this stupid phone call you just can't seem to place...And you feel it's vitally important. THE STUPID PHONE WON'T WORK...WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PHONE..I DIALED THE NUMBERS RIGHT...WHAT DO YOU MEAN I NEED THE CODE...I HAVE TO CALL BACK AT WHAT TIME..ON AND ON... Can you tell I had this dream. 😑

you do or like to do.

I often dream that I am spending alot of time washing my hands
in a sink. Some would say that maybe this means I feel guilty
about something and am trying unsuccessfully to wahs it away (a la Lady Macbeth), but the fat is I do spend alot of time washing
my hands in real life. I'm obsessed that way.

So not everything that appears in a dream is symbolic.

Being naked in public, that I can't explain however.

Another dream I remembered having a few times when I was still a kid, is that I fall off a high cliff... those few times really gave me a jump out of my bed with my heart pounding!!

oh god such good things i never knew...tell me has this evr happend to u like wake up from a dream crying.......ok one day i dreamed my brother got crushed and died i was crying in my dream and i woke up and i was really crying i went to see if he was their he was...help??

I've heard that being naked in public could mean that you feel self concious or exposed about something..I've have a few of those dreams.

Also..always washing your hands might mean that your "A diry boy."

the reason you dont get them confused all the time is because the AVERAGE person only uses that 10% daily , when dreaming they use a differnt 10%

Dreams speak to you with symbolisms on what's going on in your life. When you understand the symbolism you can get much awareness and even guidance.

I had a dream that I was at a X-Mas party at a really nice house. I stood over by the deserts and started tasting these white powdery cookies, They weren't round cookies, but more ark shaped. I couldn't get enough of these cookies.....I stuffed my mouth with them, I grabbed a pile of them and set them next to me, and I had my hands full of them. I just couldn't get enough of these cookies...I was getting crumbs on my face and shirt and when I had to walk around I tried to take all these cookies with me.....It was like candy...

I know what this dream means.....

Any guesses from anyone else.
