Dreams

I have never had nightmares.

Often when I dream, I know that it is dream. But I don't wake up. I usually stay in the dream for two minutes or so...it is hard to count time when you are dreaming. But when I notice that I am dreaming it is fun. I can be dreaming that I walk in the Mars, and I can imagine that I truly walk in Mars.

Sometimes I can even affect my dreaming. So, for example, if I think of lemon when I dream, a lemon comes to my dream. I have also this condition, can't remember the name for English, but sometimes I wake up but I can't move because I am in deep REM state. It takes up a minute or so for me to move again. I can't even open my eyes.

Anybody else have these occurrences?

^ That's called lucid dreaming...I've also done that. I can affect my dreams especially if it's scary, I just start thinking about what I want to happen instead and viola, it happens. Like if someone is after me, I just think "He'll give up and walk out the door" and He does.....You should do a search on lucid dreaming, it's cool what they say about it.

Yeah, it is awesome. I can actually imagine that I am flying sometimes.

Here is an good site that I found. http://www.lucidity.com/

Last night I draemt I took this hard economics test, and I failed it. Because of that test, I ended up failing the class and forced to not graduate my senior year.

I woke up and actually questioned myself

"Why didn't I study for that f*****g test!!!!"

It was really weird.

There was no test that I had taken and no test yet to take.

Must've been a conspiracy.

Have a dream catcher under your bed.It keeps nightmares away from me!@JMthumbsup

Mostly i dream about ordinary things...
sometimes i dream with lonely-kinda futuristic-places that i've never seen before.

I would have read the whole thread but this really interests me and i really need to say a few things.

I think ive had a dream where i didnt know it was a dream lol. One that always sticks in my mind was once i had a dream a scorpion was crawling under my covers, i swear i seen it (it seemed so real), infact it didnt even seem like a dream, it was so clear like i was awake at the time. i jumped out of my bed and lifted the covers off and nothing was there. I couldnt even go back to sleep because i thought it was still there.

I think theres a lot of different kind of dreams another thing that happens to me regularly is this. When i wake up in the morning at the weekends i'll be so tired that i kinda go back to sleep but at the same time i know im lying in my bed and im aware of everything around me. Then i start dreaming but its not like a dream, its more like its being read to me as theres no visual image. Then i'll open my eyes and it will be 10 mins on when it only seemed i was lying there for 10 seconds.

Another one which i think is quite scary is this. Dejavu yea, well its like that only i remember dreaming it. For example last night. I was sitting in someones house and i was looking around and just though, holy shit i had this dream when i was like 9, i swear i remember dreaming his room. Everything was exactly like the dream. That happens quite often to me now but i cant really think of anymore. But lately everytime i get dejavu its not the same, when it happens i just think i've dreamnt this before. And sometimes i havnt but i just know its happened before. lol sometimes i think im a little ****ed in the head like 😉

Sorry for writting so much but i'd really like to see wat other people think of this. I'll go read the thread now.

I actually just yesterday night had a dream that I was so sure was real...not going into any details, but when I woke up I was so sure that my dream was real that when I realized it wasn't, I freaked out.

Most of what you wrote are side effects of being on your way to falling asleep. A friend of mine (from this forum) once told me he was in that half-sleep state and saw a spider, but it vanished.

It's just because your brain is starting to break free a bit and explore the unknown side of consciousness.

Well, I know what caused my dream...my brain was remembering details from the past couple of weeks. Upset me like you wouldn't believe when I woke up and realized I was at home in my bed and not where I expected to be.

Intresting. I just finished reading other peoples posts and one thing interesting is that sum people can control thier dreams! Holy shit thats amazing. I dont think i can do that or ever have done it, infact i can barely remember most dreams when i wake up never mind control them.

Yeah, as I dream of Ye Old Witch...with her damned cats...

You can easily control your dreams it's not that hard, just tell the will you want it so over and over, wake up, write it down and tell ye will again what Thou desire from it, it is as simple as that...

Has anyone ever had a dream/nightmare that you actually wake up and question? As in, you don't wake up and KNOW it's a dream like you usually do. You wake up and instantly check if it is.

Due to the nature of the dream/nightmare or any other reason.

I'm always having dreams like that. I mean, they seem so realistic (even if the premise or what has happened is completely absurd) that you actually think that it's real for a second. I hate that.

True or Fasle?

I just saw a movie in science class today
it explain that Humans used the same amount of their brain when theydreamed and on daily life
so
how do you know when you're dreaming and when you are experiencing real life? 😕

Pinch yourself...constantly!

Kidding.

Dreams have no linear reality to them, and no logic either. That's
why one monent you could be in your house, and the next on top
of the Eiffel Tower.

Reality isn't like that.

Unless...reality is f***ed up, and so we humans dream up
this more rational world in our sleep!!

I was reading a while ago about lucid dreaming where you are in control of your dream. To do this though you must first be able to identify when you are dreaming.

One way to do this is by habit. For example: If, in real life, every 5 minutes you tried to jump off the ground and fly away like superman, then in theory it should become so much of a habit that when you're dreaming you will also do it. And of course in a dream anything is possible. So if you try to fly, and you actually do you'll know you're dreaming and hence be able to control your dream and do whatever you want (with whoever you want 😉 ) and go wherever you want.

The trouble is that people usually get so excited they're controlling their dream that they wake themselves up!

Would be fun to do though 😄

Yeah, I heard that to be able to control yourself in a
dream is an amazing feat of mental powers and
self-control, and leads to self-growth.

Atleast that's what I got from an episode of that
awesome 70's "Godzilla" cartoon.

If thats true then i have amazing self control and mental powers...

Ever now and then you just realise you are dreaming and you can control it, you ussually wake up pretty fast though at least i always do. And if what is said in the first post is true, then we don't know whether we are dreaming or not, for all we know we are dreaming now... A long boring dream. Which would mean real life is really ****ed up

Reality is an amazing thing.

Unless we can all find out for sure what each of us perceive, we'll never know.
