He has edged out Batman, but the reverse has happened as well. He's also come even with Deadshot twice I believe, as well as Azrael, and Nightwing's looked better in two encounters IIRC.
The only reason he really has any edge over Batman (which is debatable) is due weaponry and to superior stats, and none of his physical feats really exceed Steve's. Its my assessment that his weapons would be largely useless against Cap, that his physical abilities don't have much of a gap (if any) over Cap, and that he's in fact less skilled than Cap. All that taken into account, your conclusion that "Deathstroke would absolutely murder Steve." seems pretty off the mark.

Deathstroke would absolutely murder Steve.
Spidey IMO would have to pull out all the stops, release his inhibitions, and really come at Slade to win this match......but I'm convinced he could nearly every time if he did. Otherwise though, Slade could really embarass him.

For those who speculate, lets make this clear.......bruce hung quite well with slade.....for a moment, and then proceeded to get his ass handed to him hardily.......at least in one fight.....I wouldn't really begin to lump slade in the same group as bats or even cap just yet......
