Marvel has a half-dozen or so incompatable cosmology stories floating around. I some senses that bothers me and in others it doesn't. It kind of makes the point that there're some really deep mysteries out there and that noone quite has all the answers. Warlock might have some of the puzzle pieces, Reed might have some others. Jean has some. Dr. Strange has so many that they don't even seem to be from the same puzzle. Doc would say that understanding that you dont know is the beginning of wisdom.
What always frustrated me about GS's dissertations is that he was so certain that his pet story was the One True Way that he wouldn't even entertain the possability of of another point of view having any validity whatsoever. Rather than just having an opinion, he was (is? I hope he's just sulking and not in the hospital or something) opinionated to the point of being dismissive of others.
Apart from that, I didn't/don't have a problem with him, and enjoyed his posts when he wasn't on his high horse. If he can learn a bit of humility from this, I hope he comes back.
In general, I don't so much like threads like this, where it's just throwing it in a specific someone's face. A smidge hypocritical, I know, as I'm posting in it and griping about GS's exesses. I think the sheer volume of posts here is something of a testament to the frustration his style inspires. Just the same, I feel like we should keep this sort of personal thing to a minimum.

Now back to the topic at hand.
Theres been somewhat of a misunderstanding it seems when reading the latest issue of Fantastic Four.
Basically what you found out in #532 is that the reason life exists in the universe is because Eternity the embodiment of the universe asked the questions why and how does life exist in an effort to gain some understanding about his own existence:
This was an action which caused the engines of creation to ignite. A spark that set off the Big Bang, the energies of creation which was stated a few issues previously to be a manifestation of the Phoenix Force:
This energies of creation viewpoint has been stated in F4 before:
Behold! The first level! The stars! Plasmatic geodes of concentrated cosmic life force. The source from which all other life springs. The first-- and in many ways greatest-- of the principalities. They are the most precious of things. Despite all their power, they are remarkably fragile. The well from which they draw their sustenance is subject to turbulance. Periodically, it ignites in the form of the Chaos-Bringer, predator of stars-- the Dark Phoenix.
As you can see from the scans above all this talk of Reed and the entity creating the universe is a load of rubbish. A misinterpretation. It makes the point clear that all humanity, all life are as much a part of the universe as the stars. The Big Bang the release of Eternity from the cosmic egg was initiated by Eternitys questions on existence therefore Reed and co had a part in it due to the fact that they are the universe or at least a part of it. That point is made quite clear in the early creation scenes ive posted where it states "we (while showing a scene of early humanity) are as much a part of the universe as the stars" KG you took it too literally it appears. The entity and Reed went back to the pre-616 void and asked for the meaning of existence and they were shown it. In my opinion Illadelph was correct with his thought equals existence comments which as he said stem from quantam theory.
We've been told before that Eternity along with Galactus are birthed from the cosmic egg "laid" by Phoenix lol (X-men Forever #6,X-men Adventures 12 , Official Handbook of F4 2005). In my opinion when Eternity came to sentience his questions on existence were like a signal for the new creation. Hence the big bang which is as far as i know is still a manifestation of Phoenix. Nothing was said to change that fact.
I dont see how anythings changed really. The Big bang which was stated in the very same title a few months prior to be Phoenixes energies hasnt been retconned we just know that theres a reason/schedule for the Big Bang every creation cycle. Phoenix creating Eternity hasnt been retconned there was no mention of that. But whats been included is that there is a reason for the Big Bang.
So as far as i can tell from the latest issue. There is no ReedForce (come on how ridiculous would that be) all humanity however are a part of the universe. As much as the stars themselves. A universe that is striving to understand its own existence. Its questions were a signal for the Big Bang and when those questions are answered you presumably get the Big Crunch. There you have it a timetable for Phoenix LOL.
