The problem with Burtons Batman films is that they focused in so much on the villians and Batman was just a supporting character in them, that the films dont deserve to be called Batman.Thats okay for a tv show,if it a few particular episodes to be all about the villians.bot NOT for a movie.A movie is a special case.Agreed that Phieffer's character was strong and well written and an intricately well fleshed out character but ganing catlike pwers from bites from a cat? please that is pathectic screenwriting, Agreed about Michelle ,bit Not Devito because no I could not feel sorry for Danny Devito because Devito-normally a great actor in all his films, was just plain stupid in this movie and Burton made him look so stupid in that that dumb makeup he put on him.Deviot was trying too hard to be funny and as a result,he wasnt and Burton is largely to blame for that

my biggest problem with this moive is that fact that..they say Jack Napier killed batmans folks..
but in the comics.. Joe Chill did..
that ruined it for me..
Christian Bale FTW!

Once again, as I have said before... Burton was just trying to present it to an audience that knew nothing of the comics (nor did he for that matter), and he was trying to tie it all in so Batman would have a reason to want the Joker dead... he wanted to present a beginning for the Joker and a past with him and Batman and he needed to manipulate it all a bit to do so successfully...
At the time I'm sure it seemed like a great idea to everyone... now that we have Begins and we look back, not so good... but that's not Burton's fault, he was just going with the flow of the times.
