USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Rebel Alliance Thread

And I just read everything, hurray...

Could Scarlet get in touch with her Ally and her Ties?

Sure can.

In that case, Scarlet wants to contact Chartik, her reformed slaver friend, to see if he would be willing to fight the Empire with us.

Then she will contact the Red Lance in search of more aid, whether it be in manpower, firepower, or supplies. She will stress that the mission is going to be focused on stopping the Imperial war machine before it gets to the city, and so would like to be aided appropriately.

Also, do our ships have missiles and such? What would they do to AT-ATs? We've only seen blasters used on them, really.

Wait. So I could call the Alderaan Mercenary Guld and have some supplies sent over? Then I'm going with them sending me some explosives.

Is it possible that Rhys could have an assortment of various weapons on the Dawn? I imagine one in his line of work would have armaments hidden away in several places, close at hand.

Sweet, pull your contacts, see if we can get the stuff here before we leave so we don't have to worry about smuggling it onto the planet seperatly.
Then we can do REAL sabotague

(I'm all for offensive military actions, even small ones. I just thought someone had ruled that out earlier. It would be nice if thoses people's contacts and Merits could get us some kaboom! Also, I'm glad Ush mentioned the part about our orders being to stop the Imps in the jungle. I may have missed it, but I was never clear before on just what the situation was on the planet. Also, another thought on using ships. Although not a fighter, my smuggler's ship would have guns, and I have a decent pilot skill. Some others besides the Aces have similar ships or even fighters of their own. This could be an option for some piint in the game. But we'd have to consider that it might be hard to hide our ships on the panet after such an attack, we'd have to have a plan ready to hide them or run. I was looking forward to a good bar fight though...

Like Ush said, we'd have to use then really intellegently, Sparingly and critically.

(Sorry, I guess I forgot to actually make a point there. I'm kinda tired. What all that was trying to get to was the idea that we might want to look for a secluded location, some sort of base or something to work out ot. I realise that might take more time than we have, but I was thinking more among the lines of a clearing in the jungle or near a mountain or something. Kind of like Yavin 4, but more temporary. Just a place to hid our ships other than the spaceport if we need to.)

I am all for any air combat, being a Pirate. Its what I do.

Like I asked Ush, I was wondering if torpedos or anything would be much good against AT-AT armor.

I'm wondering about ship stats for the moment, but getting the duchesses to use her wealth to buy us stuff would be sweet, I think a Photon Torpedo (that shit luke used to blow up the death star) should have some effect on an AT-AT but not sure.

Firstly;

the Shard of Sapphire is a Firespray (Like Jango Fett's) and is equipped with seizmic charges bay, quad lasers and proton torpedoes, allowing me do put a dent in that AT-AT if neccessary, not to mention it is the ultimate fighter hunter (See the dogfight with Jango and Obi-Wan over Genosha, i get a rush over scenes like that especially on episode III at the very beginning!)

Secondly:

on the sabotage point, with my Fix-It skill i can deactivate engine or weaponry cooling linkages and 'Disrepair' the sensor guages to get the exact wrong reading yet nominal readings (couple minutes job with nice results!), causing some severe overheating damage that wil only be noticed once it has happened (the AT-AT would create some major friction with all of those gigantic moving parts and i would love to see the engine damage without cooling systems!)

Thirdly;

My haven is a Rebel supply and refuelling station, i could get surplus weapons, explosives and other adult-orientated goods if needed for free as this is a major step for the Rebellion!
And if we need a place to lay low afterwards it is the perfect place to run from the imperials as it has been passed coutless times without detection by Imperial fleets.

I have numerous ideas but these are some of the best i have!

By the way, my character had already left for the Everstead Asteroid Station (my haven) to pick up some decoy supplies to make an appearance as a loaded trader, as well as the explosives and weapons we may need...

Thermal Detonators...
BRINGIN' DOWN THA' HOUSE!

Ok, first of all-

Your ships are already loaded with torpedoes, don't worry about that.

Successful bombing runs might hurt AT-ATs. BUT. None of your ships are atmospheric fighters- in ESB, the X-Wings stayed parked at the base whilst they took the speeders out.

You get huge penalties using a space fighter in atmosphere. This is not a problem just for spraying fire around (and if it is starfighter vs. starfighter the penalties cancel each other out), but one thing in this scenario is certain- the guns on the AT-ATs can certainly hurt your ships, and they won't have any penalties at all.

Next... the orders to the 'active' players were to oppose the Imperial advance directly, Andro. Lanzar being a jungle world, that all kinda followed.

Next, the Duchess has the money, but who are you going to buy from? And then, the thorny question- how are you going to get whatever you buy ONTO Lanzar?

Scarlet- your old pirate buddies ('Arrrrrrrrr, Jim lad' and so on) are a bit of a Robin Hood style "Rob from the rich and give to the poor" outfit, and don't see things in the wider political context, which is presumably why you have signed up for the Rebellion. That being the case, they'll need a good pitch because frankly they won't see the Osokans as anyone worth protecting, and they won't care for the political reasons. Your Ally, meanwhile, won't be enthused by the 'please join our doomed fight' plea, either.

I am afraid not, Rhys- you have enough guns for your character and no more.

Meanwhile- ANY non-permanent sabotage can be spotted and fixed. I was just reminding you guys that fighting an army with thin air isn't very efficient.

Last of all- I am afraid a Haven is just that, it's not a supply point unless you buy it as a relevant Contact as well.

Two other points whilst I am here- I notice that Resubian has taken Alderan as a Haven- you know that logically speaking it's going to stop being one at some point, yes?

Secondly- your trouble is here that you guys aren't actually trained in this kind of thing. Only one of you has Warfare and he's not planning that department (and it's not quite his field, either). A Soldier would have been useful to let you know exactly what it is you want; if anyone has a resource that will help give advice on what tools would be best, that would also be handy.

there goes my idea of a 'Messersmitt' style attack on that AT-AT, but i forgot to mention exactly where my contact: Arms Dealer and Smuggler, is based...

Introducing Kaliier Molon'Ka, the 'Aministrator' of Everstead Asteroid Station.

he often makes runs from the outer rim systems and even brave enough to sometimes run into the inner-core to obtain the latest tech.

He is a diehard associate of Bail Organa and one of the first to join the Rebellion since it's formation = if we wan't weapons, he's got the best for less-than-minimal prices! (I new that contact would come in handy!)

HEREs what i'm planning; i'm going in first as i believe we should arrive seperately to avoid suspicion, even if we are seperate parties.
i'm going to register as a trader with the local imperial authorities to blend in effectively and begin my mischief (You'll have to wait and see!) hehehe...

Also Ush, do you think my seduction skill is high enough to lure some 'off-duty' stormtroopers to squeeze some information from? 'wink, wink, say-no-more'

Oh ya. Forgot about that. Goodbye haven.

can't those pirats and smugglers smuggle those explosives onto Lanzar?

(Sounds good to me.)

maybe the Duchess could buy the weapons from kaliier and as he also sxmuggles them he could have them delivered to Lanzar disguised as medical supplies for my trade cog or for any of the other smugglers if they want to help... we must keep the shipment away from the senatorial missin incase it is scouted!

We now need a battle plan that conicides with each person's traits that can work on a global scale:

I say we vote on ideas (Smuggling, sabotage, espionage and the like)

my vote is to gather weapons and then try to smuggle them onto Lanzar, then begin to hack into the imperial network to find out their plan of attack, if my droid is willing to help my character that is...

i would like some input plz as i am almost out of ideas and i don't want to get there confused and get in your way...

Ok I think we might be making this more complex than it needs to be..
If you have a contact that would be usefull in getting us arms, then pull it. Come up with a good Pitch.
For the Dutchess... We go to some seedy place, (Insert the generic seedy planet that I forget but is allways mentioned) buy the stuff and let the smuggler's do what they do best
smuggle.
Then we just set up a base in the jungle and keep tabs on the Imperials, and just mess with them.
Activly oppose means attacking them and Gurilla warfare is probably the best way to do that.

Contacts don't just give you weaponry just like that you know.

Also, as I say, it's not 100% exact what you are going to buy; none of you are experts.
