USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Rebel Alliance Thread

ffs why didn't I invest points in the warfare skill, DAMN IT (well that's on the XP to get list)

Hmm basicly we need someone who knows something of Warfare everyone check your contacts and allies for that.

It seems that Senator Galahad is the only person on the Rebel side of the game that has Warfare.

I do believe I mentioned that.

Ok, best have a finalised shopping list and ocation and contact pull job done, and then we can get to Lanzar! I am sure people are eager to go.

yea but I don't think Gallahad is really the military type. Ush is right guys let's come up with a finalised list by tomorrow morning (european time, so the US players also have a chance to act)

IMPORTANT NEWS FLASH;

Correct me if i am wrong but this is set a considerable time (Possibly a decade) before the battle of Yavin 4.

Our enemies cannot take AT-ATs as they have not been invented yet (or are in the very initial test stages) their very existence was known only by a select few before the Battle of Hoth, (for the exception of a 'drunkard' human civilian who saw it being tested on his desert planet and claims he was attacked by a gigantic Dune Cow though nobody believes him and that is why the imperials never chased him down, they did adopt the nickname 'Dune-Cow' as a playful gesture)

if this story is to be accurate, the AT-AT was a revolutionary new concept and not thought of during this time, the only similar weapons were left from the clone wars (with the exception of the AT-PT, all terrain personnel transport...) as the AT-ST was developed shortly before the 'Dune-Cow'.

of you wish to check this for validation, read 'Tales from the Mos Eisely Cantina' and the short story about the imperial pilot who was entrusted with one of the first trial runs and who also discovered the underbelly weakness and THEN became a rebel... but this has not happened yet!

Without the AT-AT, we could do some severe damage against ground forces, say with my charges against infantry 😉

hate to sound like a whiner, but i hate when great stories have been altered by someone, history must remain history and things like this cannot and must not be changed! its best when 'outsider' stories remain true to the original...

though i will overlook it if Ush decides to, this game is just going to be good either way (better if more realistic...)

Well, I'd reject that source then. Besides which, the Rebels clearly make reference to incoming Imperial walkers, like they are an identified threat; none of them say instead "What the freaking hell are THOSE things!!?"

As very similar things were indeed being used in the Clone Wars, I don't reckon much for that source.

have to side with Ush here.

im not trying to disrespect anything, you have a valid point but i did read it from an authorized sorce...

WHO CARES! LET THE WALKERS COME THEN!!!

sorry for interupting the game Ush, let it slide plz...

(back into it now...)

If U'Ya hadn't been wearing her crash webbing the force of the 'explosive' deceleration would've rammed her hard against the control blister consol, her hyperdrive had almost ruptured due to the obvious strain of the enhancements, she decided to return them to their normal specs.
there was good news however, she had arrived in orbit over Kashyyk, not very distant from her objective...

on the edge of this system lay a thick asteroid belt that blocked the light of the local sun, "Shard 01, Shard 01... this is Glittering Glamour and i believe the the sun is dark, over..." she said quietly over the comm, the code was not her idea but was rather unique to her ship.

"Recieved and heard, GG! door is open, bed is made; you are clear for landing on our one and only strip... no potheads about (Kaliier's name for stormtroopers) you managed to arrive without Imperial escort this time!" a familiar voice rang.

her onboard computer suddenly was updated with complex asteroid drift charts and a safe route to the well-hidden station outpost; Everstead.

as her ship landed 90 degrees as with the design, her unusually tall friend strode out with open arms, his thick great-coat trailed swiftly behind him.

"U'Ya, you grace our humble establishment with your presence once more" he said imperiously as he embraced her in a mighty hug.

U'Ya felt herself blush, trying to escape from his monsterous grip.
"Kaliier, i am in need o' some supplies, i got my first task for the Rebellion! im gonna' need some light arms and some mining explosives for a small party im plannin' on to put a smile on some grumpy Imperials!" she said with pride.

"what do you know of explosives? anyway, i can easily get the charges but it depends on what type and how many armaments you need as to how long it will take to aquire"

"Five disrupta' rifles with plenty of ammo (for the smugglers)..." she began, only to be interupted, "I dont touch those, i have one but that's mine and i will have to charge high for it, i can get you four heavy blaster rifles and one light repeater with enough ammo to start a small war!"

"how much will i owe you for the lot then?"
"U'Ya, i know your stash better than you do, you will not have enough but i will accept the 'other' items you carry.." he said slyly.

"Not my Stim! you want Glitterstim yet you wont touch disruptor rifles, some merchant you are..."
"The choice is yours, i would personally enjoy the sight of you without the ability to satisfy your addiction, you were quite disheartened during that Vroaktil incident..."

"FINE! TAKE THE STIM, YOU NERF HERDER!!!" She screamed at the top of her ability, she knew she would regret this decision later...
"pleasurable business as usual, as always your tact and your grace is noexistant!" he taunted, several of his associates were needed to hold back an enraged U'Ya before she calmed down, loaded her ship and took off without a moment of delay, 'I really need to stop coming here' she thought as the ship launched into hyperspace and on the path back to the outpost to share her goods...

(Well, unless Galahad's warfare skill is useful, I guess we don't know what to shop for. Although Thermal Detonators seem pretty standard in Star Wars mythology. I would compare it to RL's C-4. If some criminal want to make something explode, the well-know solution is C-4. (Or Semtex, but that's a little more sophisticated.) I guess what I'm getting at, is wouldn't most well traveled people know you need a Thermal Detonator to make big machines blow up? I can see anything beyond that needing specific knowledge, i.e. Warfare. Of course, that still leaves us to figure out where we're getting it from. I really didn't think the Rebels would need to be this organised this early on. I thought they just figured it out as they went. Anyone else got opinions or options?)

Galahad might be able to give yopu some tactical tips for the fight, but he's no guerilla warfare expert- like I said, a Soldier would be more likely to be that.

mines, if we can find any mines are always useful

Anyone want to make a shopping list for me? I have all the money, here...

So far...

Mines.

Hmm. I was thinking that perhaps we could perform that lovely trick that Luke pulls on an AT-AT, but the problem is that we'd have to force our way through infantry, and we don't have lightsabers, either.

Would my friends be interested in the economy of Lanzar, being the trading center that it is?

Eerin has a Heavy Weapons score of 10; does he already have a weapon that he can use with this, or should he request for one to be given to him?

Thermal detonators, Blast Packs, (Ver high explosives) A shitload of the equivalant of C4.

the mining explosives are semi-seizmic, they were left from the old mining operations at Everstead, myself as a character belives that they would come in handy to lay as traps in the jungles to mow down excessive wads of infantry. though i agree with Ush; either a soldier or Galahad would probably be adequate at setting them up unless they are able to inform others how and where to do so...

It's not so much the setting of them- which would directly rely on the skill 'Sabotage'- but about what is the best stuff to buy and the best way to use it in this situation, that you might need help on.

Eerin can have a Heavy Weapon, that's fine.

Scarlet- hmm, you don't think so.

is there something like a mobile jamming device (vehicles in SW -The Falcon and the speeder bikes- seem to be equipped with stuff that jams communications frequences) anyway we can get something like that, but then maybe portable?

It wouldn't be powerful enough to be useful.
