Kyle arrives on the scene and even before he brings the Last laugh to a stop, immediately jumps straight down the smuggler's throat. He's shouting into his mic.
"What is your problem?! You've been paid to deliver these goods, and we're offering to remove the danger of running the blockade for you. So you are actually being asked to do less than you were paid by not actually landing on the planet itself. You will follow us to the moon immediately and transfer your cargo to Drakkon's representatives, us. If you don't comply RIGHT NOW I will call Jabba the Hutt and explain that someone representing the Hutts is not only reneging on a fully paid deal, but is trying to extort more credits for himself. I don't know exactly which Hutt you deal with, but it doesn't matter. If the word gets out about what you're doing to Hutt business, inside of a solar month you and your crew will be nothing more than large piles of Rancor shit. So are you gonna cooperate or not?!"
"I was contracted to deliver the goods on the surface," says the Captain. "I was also contracted to deliver the goods to Osokans. I was also contracted to deliver goods to a world not under Imperial blockade with the possiblity of detection and destruction for my ships. I don't work for Jabba, but I tell you this- take it to the Hutts, and they will agree with me and nullify the contract." He smirks. "Lanzar can feel free to apply for a refund, if any of them are still alive..."
Kyle- he's probably right, although the Hutts won't exactly be overjoyed, because they prefer people that make the best of bad situations rather than just pulling out. Still, given that or going near that blockade, especially as now he knows it is one the Imnperials are taking seriously... nah, he wants to make on this. Frankly, YOU would want to make on this if circumstances changed like that whilst on a run.
Best to negotiate.
Kyle sat and fumed for several seconds and looked over at Eerin. "I really thought that would work. This guy is no idiot, unfortunately." he thinks for a few more moments. "Maybe we can give him what we're carrying." He curses again before keying his comm. "
Alright you lousy nerf, here's the deal. As 'compensation' for your 'inconvienence' I'll personally throw in my cargo." He transmits his entire manifest over to the freighter captain. "You get all that and the pleasure of depriving the great Kyle Ragnor of his cargo and his pride. I'll even buy you a drink, you can have my last few credits to celebrate your victory. It's a bargain really, your trip is still profitable, and you don't get your head ripped off by my friend the Geonosian War Bug. Let's get to the moon and you can have your stuff. Just don't double-cross me. I'm not flying a ship called the Last Laugh for nothing."
(Ah, I had thought you had mentioned early in the game that Rhys and I would have had something in our holds to trade with. So, back to my original question. Since our holds are empty, we have few credits, and we can't get him to join, what do we have to negotiate with? Have I misunderstood something?)
(Not in here anyway. Well, then. Here's what Kyle will really say.
"How much would it take to convince you coperate? I am short on time and I am not in a mood to haggle. I travel with a wealthy Noble from a well-off planet. She can meet us on the moon and give you your credits. What do you say?"
"Eerin, I think we're going to have to do this the hard way. Any ideas?"
(Well, who's left? Cass, Eerin and I are up here, Rhys and Sasha are getting killed trying to get the weapons back and Galahad isn't an army. Unless I forget someone, that leaves Scarlet. I can't remember if she was headed to the clearing, or came with us. So. Do we really need these weapons? Couldn't we just get back and work with what we have?)
Ok here's the deal.
They have 3 big freighters.
Between us and the Smugglers we hired, we can take 2 of those ships.
Now if we can cut a deal so it looks like he gets paid for all the ships, but keeps some of the weapons for himself to sell later, we might be able to get away with max or close to max amout of weapons we can carry
So, tell him that we will only take 2 and a half ships worth, leaving him an extra half ship to sell later. And bargin down...
see what you can get.
