(Apologies for recent RP slowness- been on a course in London)
"Ahhh," says Vasilik, "the thought of a true Hunter! Well then, as you wish it! When do you wish to go?"
And I guess I may as well be a little generous and let anyone go into the jungle if they wish. I think this will have to meen you leave a bit later than planned.
As for spotting the sneaky people, no trick- Arvus simply failed his Intrusion roll against Vasilik's watchers. For all their apparently thickness of skull at expense of brain, Vasilik and co are actually quite wily.
-
Kyle- you have blown two Luck re-rolls.
It seems- by sheer, dumb luck- Last Laugh crashed into a mass of creepers which acted like a giant crash net, before falling a final ten feet to the ground, the right way up.
The ship is crippled. It can't even think about flying. But it's intact; possibly salvageable.
The day is getting on by the time you awake, with a splitting headache. And already in the jungle, it is almost pitch black. The canopy is so thick as to make even midday seem gloomy, and as evening draws on, the darkness comes fast.
Eerin, you just dug yourself out of the ground about a mile away. The escape pod buried itself deeper than you planned.
(WOOHOO!!!! I can't help but grin at that one.)
Kyle walked through the battered freighter, inspecting the damage. It was a disaster, but despite the damage and his own situation, Kyle was grinning ear to ear. Boy that was fun., he kept thinking to himself. He laughed once and flinched. Boy that hurts. He spent a long while in a daze, roaming and inspecting things. The Last Laugh looked like it could fly again, but with lots of work. Kyle though Wow, if Eerin could see this!
"Eerin!" Kyle yelled out loud. "Oh, shit. What's wrong with me?" It had all come back suddenly. The battle, the damage, the reckless descent, and ejecting his friend were suddenly as clear as if it had happened just seconds before. "He better be alright..."
Kyle wieghed his options. He wanted to call the others, especially Eerin. But he was afraid of giving away his position and the condition of his ship to the Imperials. Of course, his position was probably no secret, a freighter crashlanding in the jungle probably leaves a mark. In the end he decided to send a general message on the channel they had been using. If the Imps came, he could probably hide in the jungle for a bit.
"Hey out there. In case anyone's curious, I made it. Send updates and instructions on the situation. I need a ride though..."
Eerin digs his insectoid claws into the damp ground and hoists himself up out of the hole that his ejector unit dug itself into.
"[Oi]," Eerin mutters as he drags himself up. "[Rough impact...]"
Eerin looks around the jungle, taking in the sights and sounds, though the night is closing in fast and his sight is becoming limited.
"[This is Bug to Captain, do you read?]" Eerin tries on his comlink, but to no result. "[Bug to Capt...oh, what's the use.]" He replaces the comlink at his belt.
Keeping his electro-halberd at the ready and sonic blaster at hand, Eerin begins his trek off into the jungle to find where the Last Laugh has crashed.
Kyle doesn't stew long before he's bored. He decides to start on the repairs to his ship. He quickly puts together a mental checklist, and starts picking things that can actually be done under the circumstances.
First thing's first, he makes sure his sidearm is intact and charged. Then he goes to see if the ship has power, whether from the reactor or the batteries. Then he gets to work.
(Kyle's mental list, I'm not sure what, if anything can be done. I figure it's better to try than to just sit:
Power, any way he can get it.
Sensors, to detect anything man-sized or larger approaching.
Food - it's been a long day.
Then: He'll tinker with whatever he can, no matter large or small. The Last Laugh will rise again! Someday. 🙄 )
