USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Rebel Alliance Thread

Galahad turns to look at Zalandos, then returns to gazing out over Lanzar City, and the jungle beyond.

"Perhaps you're right. There's not much left to be done here. The invasion is coming, regardless of my efforts. Now it is up to Drakkon and the others."

He steps away from the window and out of the orange sunlight.

"I must have one last conversation with Drakkon," Galahad says. "And with the others. Inform my aides that we are preparing to leave for Thespion by the end of the day."

"They should have killed him."

"Razed the planet to the core if need be."

(Wow. I knew it was a long shot, but I guess now I know Andro won't be killing Seinar. Or at least be there when they do. Bummer.)

Kyle watches the shuttle go, too.
"Eerin, next time I try to use my head, smack it." he sighs, "We should have just jumped them when we had the chance. But apparently their work here is done. Maybe we should check on the generator now, see if they monkeyed with it."

The streets are easing. Most off-worlders are now in the starport, or gone.

The generator is absolutely fine.

Well, I think you guys need to have a collective think about what your objectives are now. Galahad is considering packing up.

(Well, as far as we know, the Imperials still don't have a legal reason to invade. Although, Drakkon and Lanzar aren't exactly smelling like roses right now. I think we need to settle in and ready the defence of Lanzar City. Maybe Galahad should leave, really. If he's caught here after the Rebellion begins, he'll be implicated automatically. He's already associated with many of us, perhaps too much. I don't think that once the fighting begins we are going to remain anonymous to the Imperials anymore.
Maybe Galahad can go back and put a face on what happens here. Imperial citizens, attacked for no cause. While we can try to clain some kind of tactical victory for the Rebellion, to show the Imperials can be fought. We haven't had a stellar showing politically, but we've not lost yet. And so far we have demonstrated, with Vasilisk's help, that we can hurt the Imperials tactically.
So let's get ready to win the Battle of Lanzar City. We're going to need more ideas from Vasilisk and/or Drakkon. We need to arm the population, and do what we can to seal off the city. We have to move quickly, because I'm guessing we have little time. Hours maybe, with the important people out of the way. All the Imperials have to do is mobilize, if they haven't already.)

If Galahad leaves, the rest of you are do-or-die. His Senatorial privelege is the only safe way off this world once the war starts.

(I know, trying to be heroic here. We're Rebels. Why would it be any different that leaving that freighter to fend for itself and get blown up? Besides, who says we can't win? I guess I only see leaving as a give up and lose kinda thing. Unless someone call pull a political victory out of you know where.)

It's the only safe way off even if you win. You'll be shot down else.

(Oh. I'd imagined that if we repulsed the Imperials here, and got the Senate sympathy back there through Galahad, the attack force would be pulled off. Hmmm... maybe it's worse than I thought.)

Even if that were true, you would be stuck there more or less forever, completely identified as a rebel terrorist beyond any legal doubt. You'd become useless.

As it is, Vader is here. I don't think anyone believes he's leaving this one and going home. Like Drakkon told you- the Emperor has sent Vader, so that's it. It's going to happen. He'll just send more armies.

EDIT- Andy was here

Galahad wants to stay until he's at least sure that there's nothing more to be gained from the political situation, for either side. Or that the Commissar can't do anything annoying.

(So, we stay we lose, we leave we lose? Is there anything we can think of to improve on that?)

We knew there'd be no preventing the invasion right from the start.

We're here to make a difference and stand up to the Empire, not defeat it.

Well, by now, other than the stormtrooper presence in the city, you are the only off-worlders remaining, which means everything has gone very quiet.

ISD Revenge has left orbit.

(That's why I'm confused. We knew it would come down to this, yet if we do we lose? If we stay, we're exposed and useless as Rebels, we leave and the Empire razes Lanzar.)

No no, only if Galahad leaves and you stay do you risk becoming useless. Whilst he is here, he is your get out clause.

Ah. So if I left a decent amount of time before the upcoming battle, the rest of my team would be blatant Rebels and it would be useless to continue here?

I think thats it.
So basically you are stuck here for us to suceed.

You'll be fairly blatant Rebels anyway, but you have them legally covered, galahad.

Well, Galahad will have his aides be ready to leave by tomorrow, at a second's notice, but delay his departure until the Imperial Army is close to the City, whenever they start their march.

That way, everyone's legally covered until the battle.

Or do they need to be covered during the battle as well?
