USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Rebel Alliance Thread

Ok well the way I have it in my head goes like this.
Their TIE's arn't here yet.
So if I go attack the blockade inforcing ties NOW, at least some of the Convoy TIEs will peel off to come deal with me. And probably the Players as well.
That would leave an opening for the other guys to attack the convoy.
So I want to be attacking BEFORE the convoy breaks out of the forest.

The TIEs are there.

But yes, if you go first, instead of simultaneously, that fits the definition of a diversion. Unlike before, which was just splitting forces, which is what they have done to no good effect.

It's worth noting, however, that you've never seen a Star Destroyer without fighter cover before.

Interesting.
Ok.
Here's the deal.
Full out assault on the SD. All fighters adn firepower.
Lets scare the shit out of the Imps...

TIEs are in the way first.

Focus on eliminating all the TIE fighters up there first, before you go about buzzing the Star Destroyer.

Scarlet will prep her ship for take-off, watching as Cass prepares for his diversion.

"Cass," Scarlet shouts to him. "Have one hell of a ride, but come back in one piece, okay?"

The Duchess will appear at the starport as her Rebel friends prepare to go take on the Empire.

"May the Force be with you all," she says. "I want to see you all back here for the battle, so do not do anything more suicidal than we're already doing..."

Ok, I really can't let anything happen until people are clear on the plan.

You are meant to be going too, Scarlet.

If Cass wants me to come along, then alright.

Here's the plan, then...

1) Cass and Scarlet roar up into space and engage the TIE Fighters up there. Hopefully one of the squadrons or both of the squadrons down by the Army will fly up to engage as well.

2) Rhys will fly out to meet the Army just as it emerges from the jungle and attack the Artillery. If we finish up with the TIEs in space, we'll fly down and help.

...Scarlet, I thought the idea was to go out and buzz the air cover TIEs before the army got out of the jungle?

Isn't THAT what Ush said would be a proper diversion?

Well, Cass's plan is to go attack the TIE Fighters and Star Destroyer, and I don't there's a Star Destroyer hovering above the Army, so I assume we're talking about the ones in space. 😛

Ok, I said that Cass going up first to pull fighters away would be a diversion, as opposed to the first plan, nwhere it was simultaneous, which was simply splitting your forces.

But Cass' new plann is neither. It's a combined attack on the Imperials in space; a move bolder than I feel people first suspected. If all of you go up there- inclluding the torpedo bearing craft- then blowing apart the TIEs leaves the unescorted SDs suddenly looking nervous.

But if only Cass goes up, he can't hurt the SDs so that's no good.

But doesn't engaging the forces in orbit completely ignore the advancing army?

Ah, I see. And then we'd split off to take care of the Army, yes?

That's why he asked to do it in advance of the army clearing the jungle. You can't hit them before then anyway.

And I assume that would be the plan, yes.

Alright, I understand now.

So we all fly up in our little ships while the army is still under cover and start blowing up the little Imperial ships, so the big Imperial ships start to feel a little vulnerable.

Turbolasers are not an adequate defence against fast moving fighters.

Of course, there aren't many of you, so the risk is small. Still, you are VERY good. I wouldn't trust to luck, if I were the Imperials. They have a whole lot more to lose.

Well, let's get to it, then.

Then you guys are off! As ever, you must co-ordinate with the Osokans so they can let you through the shield.

Target is TIEs...

One last thing though- before you guys make asses of yourselves, who exactly is going?

(Well, not to confuse the matter further, I think Eerin and I volunteered for any open gunner positions, If it would make any difference.)

That was what I was hoping for, yes. Else that could have looked silly.
