USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Rebel Alliance Thread

Sorry, which TIEs are you attacking in that plan?

As long as the Army doesn't get to the City while this is going on. If the Army starts to march through the shield, we have to ditch the TIE fighting and get back to the City ASAP.

Will threatening to run the blockade just waste time, Ush?

However, I do like the idea of taking them on from behind.

The ones providing the air cover.

Well, in that case, Cass has an objection. He thinks zooming up into space just to zoom down and then attack the TIEs is a waste of time; just gives the TIEs longer to prepare.

And 'behind' assumes the TIEs are hovering in a straight line facing one direction. Cass can tell you right now; they'll fly a standard patrol pattern.

Unless the TIEs are already almost in position, we would be wasting time getting back from the craft battle to attack the artillery pieces. We need to be able to make runs the entire time between the artillery leaving the jungle and entering the shield.

We have Cass, Scarlet, and Rhys with ships, correct? Galahad's ship can't be used, since he plans on going up to a Star Destroyer when he leaves...

Against 24 TIEs and the two other fighters. Looks like about the right odds for Rebels...

Okay, so those with fighters go outside the shield, before the army breaks through the jungle. If the enemy squadrons are in position, we pick off as many TIEs as we can before the army appears. Once we can see the artillery, we turn our attention to it and destroy as much of it as we can before they get through the shield.

Also, maybe we can down a few walkers as a secondary objective?

How's that sound to everyone?

EDIT - I took way too long to type that...

EDIT AGAIN - I don't remember the Black Dawn's specs. It has torpedoes, right? How about extra gunnery for Kyle or Eerin?

That actually sounds better than my idea. Strike hard and fast, before they can really respond to it.

"If you insist, Guildmaster," Galahad says. "I hope that the Force will aid you and your people in the battle to come."

Galahad pauses for a moment before proceeding to the next topic he wished to address.

"Now, Guildmaster, I know that you were extremely opposed to the idea of the Rebellion being allowed to look at the Record of Kileen, but I wish to know...if you are victorious in the Battle of Lanzar, would we be allowed at least a few names from this list? It really is of extreme importance to the Rebellion, in order to fight against the Empire and the Sith."

"I'm sorry, but no."

"Drakkon, please, what could convince you?" Galahad asks. "The Rebellion is willing to do whatever is necessary to persuade you."

He raises an eyebrow.

"I believe the Emperor made similar offers to my predecessor. But there is nothing that is more important to us than the sancity of that record. It would dishonour all of us to let it be seen."

"The parchment never has to reach my eyes."

"The information on it is as secret as its physical form."

"And this list has never been seen before by the likes of non-Osokans?"

Unless we're waiting for Galahad and Drakkon to stop chatting, Scarlet's all ready to take the Tip of the Lance out against and show the Imperials what she's made of.

I'll await Cass's say so.

"And this list has never been seen before by the likes of non-Osokans?"

"Indeed so."

"But imagine what good it could be put to, Drakkon! By giving the Rebellion the information it requires, the Empire could be stopped! You said that the attacks on Lanzar will not cease, even if you are victorious now. More armies will come. But what if the Jedi could stop it? If a Jedi were found, that alone would drive the Empire mad. But if several were found, oh, the Emperor would be furious. You would be striking at him not only the battlefield, but on a personal level as well.

"Lanzar would be forgotten as Jedi appeared to stand against the Imperial forces. The Empire would leave your people be and you could thrive in peace, away from the Rebellion and the Empire. Away from galactic conflict."

"I am not interested in sacrificing the honour of my people- which soon may be all they have left- must to satisfy your political desires. Or your military ones."

"What if you lose this battle, then?" Galahad asks. "I am completely opposed to the deaths of millions of innocents as you well know, but would the Rebellion be able to obtain the Record if you were to perish?

"I know that is a dangerous line of thinking, and I must express that I do not mean that the Rebellion wants the Imperials to win. That would be ludicrous and hardly an example of the altruism that the Rebellion wishes to be known for. The thought of it sickens me."

"No," says Drakkon. "It will be destroyed."
