Hunting a TIE at 1, then... ermm

Sure why not.
I haven't tried hunting yet.
Sounds fun.
Hunt a TIE thats coming after me.

"Don't worry, Rhys, just getting used to this thing you call a turret gun!" Kyle jabs back, grinning to himself.

"Hey, that thing was quality back when it was installed! You obviously have no love for the classics!" Rhys yells back, a grin on his own face.

"You know you have to maintain things more as they age, not less right?"

"You can yell at me about maintenance when the ship stops flying, and not before!"

Scarlet would comment, but she's focusing on her flying...

Okidokey then!

19 from Cass is a kill of kills, done in any spectacular way he likes.

Kyle blows away one of the damaged TIEs attacking.

And then kills from Scarlet and Rhys!

And to cut this short, we can quickly repeat that for a wipe-out of the TIEs.

ORBITAL BATTLE

Black Dawn: 8

Tip of the Lance: 5

RFT: 0

---

Imperial response has been the following:

- Victorious has left station and is moving across to Deviator, above the city, where they can combine fire against attackers

- The two squadrons at ground level are coming up to cover the SDs. The independant fighters are not coming with them.

Any chance of making it to the Victorious before the pair of squadrons get back to orbit?

No, afraid not. You deliberately caught the TIEs far out from the SDs so as to leave them isolated; Victorious started to move at almost exactly the same time as you fired the first shots. The Commodore must have gussed how it was going to go.

Yes! The distraction worked and we wiped out these TIEs with little difficulty! Good work, team...

Has the Army left the Jungle yet?

Minutes away.

Alright then. We should probably head back down, then. If they were foolish enough to keep the pair of personal ships acting as cover...

Rhys lets loose a whoop of victory. "Yeeeeaah hahaha! Good job, everyone, that squadron's history!" He punches the air, then winces when that punch knocks his pair of fuzzy dice to the floor.

Alright!
Hmmm, Here's what I'm thinking.
If all of a sudden we rush back down, won't the TIE's just turn around and come back down to give us hell? Or do we have enough lag time.
Also, what is the penalty for trying to engage the personal fighters in atmosphere?
Because I'm thinking of going down and attempting to engage them, and leading them into space.
umm, how many of the personal fighters are there? 2?

Franjly, you'd like the chance. If the TIEs broke from the SDs to follow you... well, two squadrons is no pushover, but if you won that fight...

It's not worh the risk with the SDs firing at you as well, of course.

The independant fightes are not atmospheric craft, so you are all on the same penalty, so it all evens out.

It is 2, yes. But it seems they are heading to land in the jungle.

(Once the army clears the jungle, the city will have to keep the shield up, won't they? Are we trapped outside, or would we be able to coordinate a quick window to get back in. The only trouble i see with that is if the Imperials are watching, they might take the hint and fire as soon as the shield lowers. Were we planning on returning at all, or giving them hell from the air?)

You need to let them know, yes. It only goes down for a few seconds.

Hmm... that's a complicated problem I hadn't thought of. Once we're out of torps we don't want to be stuck outside with a giant army of stormtroopers.

It might be possible, if we attack hard and fast, to do sufficient damage to the artillery and then call in for the shield to be dropped just long enough for us to get through.

Did the earlier reconnaissance figure out what was leading the army?

Oh, there is a unit of AT-ATs to the fore.

But yes, you'll have to be quick. The window of opportunity is small.

Would it be practical to attack some of the AT-ATs as they emerge? Scarlet and Rhys can both do heavy damage.

Or would that use up resources necessary for the artillery runs?
