USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Rebel Alliance Thread

You do only have so many torpedoes.

AT-ATs might have made a good target earlier, but too much time has passed.

Ah. Figures.

This would have been much easier if we could have attacked one of the SDs...

Alright guys, plans?

Actually
I think this is going really well for us.
I'm gonna follow the atmosperic fighters, to see where they land and such.
You guys drop down onto the planet, and destroy those damn artillery, and anything else you can get your torpedos on.
Lets cause some hell...

We can't attack the artillery until it's out of the jungle, though. And if the AT-ATs are leading, they'll probably be at the shield before we're even able to hit our intended targets.

So?
The AT-AT's can't DO anything unless they get in the city, which is something only the Artillery can let them do.
Artillery is the key point of their plan
We kill that, we kill their plan.
Anything we have left over after killing the artillery can go to the AT-AT's

The AT-ATs are a considerable threat and are probably the back-up plan if they simply can't drop the shield.

But AT-ATs are such big targets and squeezing them inside the smnall gap between shield and wall would leave even them vulnerable to you guys trying things. They are just too unwieldly to use in a confined space.

Even they wouldn't be so stupid as to have only one plan, especially when that one plan is very obviously in great danger right now. They must have some way of defeating the walls themselves.

Well, yes, those AT-ATs could do it. But they might lose some and that doesn't look good.

Whereas AT-ATs attacking as part of a proper combimned arms force are almost invulnerable to you.

cool
Lets kill the Artillery, and have fun beating on the AT-AT's...

Indeed, time to blow apart the Artillery and pester the AT-ATs...

Also, query from earlier, would it be possible for Scarlet to ignite the jungle around the Army with torpedos or cannon fire?

Nope.

Good work, guys, now just knock out that artillery without a hitch and the Battle for Lanzar will be that much easier.

I am just waiting for final confirmation of where those bloody independant ships are. They're flip-flopping all over.

Do we really have them that freaked?

A chunk of their planning has messed up due to them being under resource pressure for plot reasons.

So the bottom line is who is blaming whom, and who is ordering whom to apparent certain death.

Edit- wrong thread, sorry.

Meanwhile, we can cheer as our strike at the TIEs goes off without a hitch!

Now for the artillery.

Indeed, you may now proceed. The independants are setting down in the jungle.

There is, right now, no fighter cover. Now, those fighters have got to be somewhere, but they are nowhere close so they can't get there that fast. That artillery is slow moving, though, and chances are that your biggest time limiter is how long before they get the rest of the fighters over.

That being the case, there are three units covering the artillery.

First is the Stormtroopers. But personal blaster fire is VERY ineffectual aginst ship shields, and stuff like the E-Web blasters are not designed for aerial targets. Not since the Clone Wars have troopers been rotuinely equipped with anti-air stuff.

Secondly is the AT-ATs. Their guns are very powerful and could damage you. But again, they are not designed for anti-airt use- they are slow tracking. If you actually atttack an AT-AT, you have to fly at it and it can get a bead on you. Other than that, their fire will be ineffectual.

This leaves the AT-STs, which they have moved up to cover the artillery. These have reasonably powerful guns and are fast tracking- and there are enough of them to cover all angles (except vertically above, but as you aren;t in atmospheric craft you are not built for dive-bombing, which would be more like dive-suiciding)

They will be your main threat. Not a great threat, but a torpedo run on the artillery (the most effective way to damage it) requires a straight run whilst you targeting computer locks on.

Strategically speaking, there are three units of artillery. Successful bomb runs will cause damage based on your payload rating. Enough such successful bomb runs will knock out one of those units, not only just for now but also for the main battle to come.

Alright, planning time.

Rhys and Scarlet have proton torp payloads. Cass does not. As Cass also has the best Pilot score, I think he should cause havoc with the AT-STs.

Rhys has Kyle manning his turret as well. Ush, is it possible for Kyle to target AT-STs from the turret while Rhys is in a straight run on artillery?

Cass can lead, covering us and shooting AT-STs, and Rhys and Scarlet can follow behind to make their runs.

Sadly no- Rhys' turret is a rear one, and cannot hit ground targets during a bomb run.
