USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Rebel Alliance Thread

"What news from the Destroyers, Senator?" Galahad asks Andran, if possible.

The Osokan looks blankly at you.

"Who are you, to be saying you have orders from the Guildmaster?"

-

"They are sending a party down. The Commissar wants to arrange to meet the Senators, probably throw a few threats around."

"Do Commissars do anything but? Do you wish for me to attend?"

"[Tell him that we're private agents of the Guildmaster]," Eerin suggests to Kyle.

"Feel free to hang around," says Andran. "I'd understand if you had other things to do. It's such a hassle, this kind of thing, of course. I am the head of an important Senatorial delegation. Everywhere I go, everything I say; it has to be noted, recorded, accounted for. No privacy for people like me! I almost envy you, Senator, not having to be followed everywhere you go by the rat pack."

He looks directly at you.

"It means you can do so much more."

"So very true, Senator," Galahad replies, meeting his gaze with a slight grin.

Kyle does his best to glare back at the imposing Osokan as hard as he dares. He continues in a stern voice, speaking slower than before.
"I am Kyle Ragnor, and these are my associates. We are private agents of the Guildmaster, and have little time to waste. You are aware, of course that there are no less than three Imperial Star Destroyers closing in on Lanzar as we speak. I don't imagine they are happy with the political situation here. I also don't imagine that the Imperials can be seen assaulting a planetary leader, hence, the suspected use of assassins. That is what we're here trying to assist with. Are you going to continue to stand in the way of the Guildmaster's security?" he finishes, hoping that he didn't just take that last part a little too far.

Getting close to Intimidation, there.

He continues to look blankly at you.

"You?" he says. "YOU are agents of the Guildmaster?"

He bursts out laughing.

Problem here is, that only members of the Guildmaster's own Hunting Lodge get to jockey for the honour of being his agents, and you guys aren't even Osokan; Lanzar is not a world renowned for its multicultural sense.

That and that you didn't roll very well.

"This meeting distracts me from a number of other issues I want to work on," carries on Andran. "I was just discussing with the Guildmaster the other day about his plan to modernise his defence forces. Apparently he thinks he should have a properly organised army with firearms, rather than relying on Hunters to provide close quarters defence. I told him, it's an interesting idea, but a massive and overt show of armament at this time might be a little... crass? Who knows who it might offend, especially with our new guests arriving? Still, Senator, these Osokans... not people with a huge sense of social decency."

He gathers up some papers.

"Meanwhile, it seems the Imperials are sitting back for now. They haven't been outrageous enough to blockade this planet, and that just got tested by three ships they have let past and will be landing before long."

He starts to walk off, shaking his head.

"Big ships though. I've no idea what anyone thinks they might be bringing in such bulk to this world. Ah well..."

(Well.....Poodoo! Ok, either we try it the hard way, (i.e.- stealing the list), or the really hard way and I have Kyle just go off in the Osokan's face. Rhys, BB, what do you guys vote? Maybe I'm wrong, but I keep comparing these guys to Klingons, with the whole warrior society thing. My logic is that he might just be a tad impressed at this little pipsqueak daring to scream in his face when he could squish me at will. Or maybe it will amuse him and he'll let us get the list. Or maybe he'll squish me. Thoughts? What do you guys think?)

Those ships. There is something important on those ships...
hmmm

I vote not pissing off the Osokan. They all come with the Combat trick "Squish Human."

Galahad watches Andran walk off down the hall, thinking to himself that either Andran is dropping him hints or is rather unknowingly doing so, and that the defense of Lanzar City would be so much easier with a modernized Osokan army, and how scary such an army would be.

Galahad then contacts Kyle's group. "Kyle, this is Galahad. I want you to investigate something. Three ships have just come into the starport, bypassing the Star Destroyers due to the fact that they haven't set up a blockade yet. Andran has unwittingly told me that they're rather large and that he can't imagine what someone would be flying such vessels to Lanzar for. So, I want you to discover what they're carrying.

"But be wary: an Imperial shuttle should be landing soon. The Commissar wants a meeting with Senator Andran, and is most likely accompanied."

Kyle stares back at the mirthful Osokan for a few seconds.

"Fine, have it your way. I guess you must have preferred Matadan's rule, since you're unwilling to simply let us inspect your records in our effort to protect Guildmaster Drakkon. We'll just have to look elsewhere. Thanks for wasting our time." and he turn his back and stalks away, motioning for the others to follow.

(Well, I tried, and I hope that parting shot stung the a$$-wipe. 😛 So what's our next move? I guess there's nothing stopping us from visually inspecting the port, but that could take ages, and turn up little. We could try to hack the list, but getting caught probably automatically trigger the 'squish human' Trick. Or should we just move on to the cantinas?)

I think Galahad had something in mind for us, due to the fact that we're at the starport. I suggest we try that.

Ooops, Kyle... the is a shink sound as the Osokan draws his hunting knife.

"Say that again, human."

(Oops. Hehe. I made the bed, guess I better hop in...)

Kyle spins on one foot, and drops his hand to his blaster.
"That. Again. There, happy? All we want is to help you people out, and now you want to start a fight over a LIST OF SHIPS! Ridiculous. But, hey, it's your planet. We'll do it however you want."

((Post assumes I have overheard the com message to Kyle))

Marlu offers to do that, and attempts to slip off before he gets dragged into Kyles conflict.

He heads over to the locations where the three (or one of the three is vastly sepearte) ships landed and attempts to get in close to trade assorted items. A role he has been in for real many times so should know what he is doing.

Wow. How incredibly stupid of my. I totally missed Galahad's post before mine about the comm message. Geez. Lana needs to give Rex a break and come after me with the pokey stick. Rhys, BB, if you think Kyle is about to completely screw the pooch here, feel free to grab him and apologize to the Osokan for your crazy, drunk friend. Otherwise, this is actually kind fun, and I'm trying to save it.
Oh, and Marlu? You never actually posted that you came with us that I could see. Unless I missed that one too. You must be helping with the defenses.)

I know Osokans, and this guy isn't gonna be impressed by some wimpy human wishing he was Osokan.

Rhys steps forward, grabbing Kyle roughly by the shoulder, and (fake)slapping him across the face. He then turns to the Osokan in question. "My idiotic associate here has a hair-trigger temper and a loose mouth. Ignore him. However, Guildmaster Drakkon has not actually made us true agents. He has graciously allowed us to do whatever we can to aid his cause during this time. There are rumors of assassins in the city. They are of course no threat to the Guildmaster, but he would rather we take care of some cowardly assassin so that they do not distract him from more important matters. We have dealt with assassins before, and if we had a list of the docked ships we could close the matter much more quickly."

He raises an eyebrow- a bushy Osokan eyebrow.

He then shrugs- they aren't very dedicated bureaucrats.

"Very well then," he says. "Keep your friend under control, though."
