USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Rebel Alliance Thread

I don't want to reduce the blockade issue to being one that only has one possible solution. I don't even want you to think that all you ideas so far have been useless- it is just that I see the Imperial players being able to see past it all (incidentally, looks like the Captainplayer will be doing the Squadron Leader's job, so you will be up against a player after all).

Let me put it this way- the chances of those freighters, slow and bulky as they are, flying past a pre-set Imperial blockade of three Star Destroyers and attendant fighters are about nil, whether you are with them or not. Chances are they'll just turn around and go home.

But concentrate on exactly what your objective is here. What are you, ultimately, trying to do, in reagrds to this specific blockade situation?

OK, hmm.
Can we take the cargo FROM the freighters and then use our faster ships to fly by the blockade?

(If we can pull that off. We need to know when and where the shipment is comming though. Otherwise, we'll have to just sit in space and wait. Unless we could make it there in time from the surface if we were ready. We could comm the ships when they arrive, tell them to wait for us. Maybe the Imps won't simply fire on freighters that have just arrived, maybe they actually have to try to run the blockade first. Sounds like a plan to me!)

I think if you start shifting cargo within sight of the Imperials they will intervene.

(Who said it had to be within their sight? Isn't there a moon or something we can hide on/behind?)

Yes, that could certainly be organised.

So the plan for you guys would be...

1. Wait for the freighters to come in (either in orbit, which might attract Imp attention, or on planet, which would take longer I'm guessing)
2. Comm the freighters and convince them to head for a/the moon
3. Meet with the freighters on the moon (would this be a blockade run just to get out, Ush?)
4. Take on the cargo
5. Haul ass back down to the planet as the freighters head back out (second run?)
6. Land in the jungle (you guys still need to get Drakkon's Osokans on jungle-clearing duty, don't you?)
7. Prepare weapons for use against the Imperial landing point.

The freighters will almost certainly jump in wthin minuts of the taskforce and the Imps will move fast. They'll need to be pre-warned.

Problem number two is size. Those freighters are huge. Your ships can carry the cargo of one of them...

Well, you can't comm a ship in hyperspace... how can we talk to them before they even get there?

As for the cargo... can it be dropped on the moon and picked up later? Except that means Rebs would be making multiple blockade runs, and have to be able to find the spot on the moon again...

You could get their attention if you got your hands on a hyperspace nav beacon they went near.

Ok, Vormax is VERY hostile to Drakkon, but although he is no genous he is no fool either, and won't pre-empt an Imperial invasion by making an ass of himself now with the weapons.

Vormax is a 'hyper-patriot'; someone who thinks he is more loyal to Lanzar than the ruling administration of Drakkon. Drakkon didn't seem to rate his hutning skills that much either, an indiciation that the spirit of Lanzar is petering out in favour of politics.

So, you will need to convince Vormax to hand them back to the person he hates the most...

Should be quite fun. 😐

As soon as they arrive, Duchess Sasha will step out of the landspeeder.

Does Vormax know I am coming?

Nope...

As an emmissary of Drakkon, does he have a right to refuse me entry?

I suppose talking with Drakkon can wait until that confrontation is done.

Galahad has three people he could yell at, the way he sees it: Commissar Esgabath, the Captain of the Deviator, or Lord Vader himself.

Who actually ordered the blockade, the Captain or Lord Vader?

Sorry to be a nag, Ush, but it looks as if you might have missed my post while replying to another.

You know the interception of the ships was ordered by Vader.

You have no official status at all.

Could Galahad make contact with Lord Vader?

That might be considered a bold move. You can give it a go.

Galahad will step onto the hologram communications grid and stand tall and proud as he makes an attempt to get in touch with Lord Vader himself.

May the Force be with me...

As it happens, Vader will speak to you.

His hologtaphbic image appears in front of you.

Breathing noise

He doesn't appear inclined to speak.
