USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Imperial Thread

Yeah. I'll just go down in the Argent Harrier by myself. The others can go with Arvus.

One more thing- Rylis has a certain reputation, I don`t want her to be recognized. Perhaps she could conceal her armor, change haircut and color, etc.

And why sending one or two Commanders with the team is bad idea? It is likely to come to a fight sooner or later.

Commanders really should be leading their troops. Solo, an Agent is at least as capable in a fight.

Okay then , only 4 will go. Unless we have any NPC Agents? I remember one of characters took Agent as an ally.

I want them to be able to give reports few times a day, so good and propably not too heavy communication equipment will be useful. Perhaps my ally could help with this, she from the Intelligence Gathering branch of Commisariat?

Fine;
Arvus, Rylis and myself in the Needle, and Stirge in the Harrier. That should do. We'll take some equipment if you can give it to us. Then we go.

Ush, I wonder about the relationship between Palpatine and Osokans. How much does my character know or can find in the records? Osokans were very foolish to turn against the very man who restored the glory of the Guilds with the formation of the Bureau, and managed to find worthy targets for them- the Jedi. Drakkon made them turn against their best interests, they could later hunt the Rebels and other enemies of Emperor.

You have pretty much all the information already.

So many Osokans may still be pro-Empire because of the past events...

The Osokans were NEVER pro-Empire, as far as you know.

But they must have good memories of Palpatine and the Bureau!

Assuming you know much about the Bureau- which you don't- they have no good memories at all, no; they were effectively co-erced.

They had to enjoy hunting the Jedi, the most dangerous prey possible. Rogan seemed to have fun at least......

Ah, but Rogan is dead, isn't he? And it hasn't been the same since.

So you suggest that Osokans were forced to participate in Jedi Purge against their will? I want my Assistant to search the Records on this subject carefully.

Meanwhile maybe I could contact my Mentor?

You aren't really sure how much they were used in the purge- the Osokan Civil War had already started by then. But much as they enjoy hunting, they never bore any love for their masters.

You may indeed contact Tarkin- but you must ask very precise and apparently relevant questions; he has little time for fools or timewasters.

So asking for general advice would be seen as weakness? I don`t want to appear weak. Maybe it would be wiser to contact him after we reach Lanzar. Though the main point I wanted to ask him about was the Senate Mission and how to deal with them. I assume he has experience in overcoming Senate opposition.

He does, but he would like be disappointed if you simply asked for general advice before you even got there. Specific problems you have identified with issues are fine.

Concerning the special team, I would like them to check the general situation in Lanzar at first: how firm is the Drakkon`s rule, the defences of the city, battle-readiness and morale of the inhabitants, perhaps location of the generator, etc. Such general knowledge could be obtained without creating too much suspicion, especially considering their skills and the fact that Rylis will conceal her identity. Then they will wait for my specific orders.

Now, my plan concerning the Senators is to speak with each individually, to determine if any of those unkown 2 is corrupt or Empire loyalist, in order for him to take members of the "team" as his aides, so they could infiltrate the Senate Mission. I want to know what is the state of negotiations, and I would inform that Emperor demands lasting sulution, and if they quarantee that they are trully able to negotiate the end of the war and bring order to Lanzar. And I doubt it is possible, concerning the nature of Osokans. I will try to convince them that Imperial military presence strenghtens their position, as Osokans won`t follow terms not backed by armed force. And if there is any peace treaty being forged, Imperial garrison will be required to enforce it, otherwise the planet once again descends into civil war.

If it doesn`t work, there would be the need to further distabilize the situation, perhaps by assasinating Drakkon or endangering Senators without leaving obvious evidence leading to Imperial hand in the events. even escalating civil war by promising Drakkon`s opponents Imperial aid could give an excuse to send troops in order to ensure the safety of Senators. Or we could demand to invstigate Drakkon`s war crimes, and protect his opponents. Osokans are extremally violent species, so finding a way to provoke them shouldn`t be impossible, which will result in putting Senators in danger, and if at least one will agree to cooperate we can force our sulutions. Then it will become purely a military matter, and we shall demonstrate to Osokans that Empire military can become ruthless even according to their standards.

Could I ask Tarkin to comment on my plans without angering him? I especially would like his advice on aproaching the Senators and breaking their unity as a team.

May I please remind people about the 'spirit of the game' rule?

You may not fabriacte evidence or deliberately de-stablise the situation. Assume ANYTHING you do in that regard will be exposed.

You can try, but consulting Tarkin is a one-shot so make sure you are sure.

So how can I play political game without subterfuge and deception? I will focus on trying to influence the Senators then.
