USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Imperial Thread

Trick has been on holiday and is now back, though lagged. I am sure he will join in if you are nice.

Lovely! I'll give him a back massage.

And, I just discovered I'm going away again tomorrow. Camping - so I'll have very limited net access, if any.

Thrak Ulrand, a tall, large-eyed man with an unusually large nose strolled onto the bridge of the Deviator. A wisp of his greying hair fell from inside his cap, and he pushed it back up, irritatedly. He was not a day older than thirty-five, but he was a victim of hereditary premature aging, and not only was his hair grey, he was balding. He glared at anyone who took their eyes' off their console to observe the usual visitor to the bridge.

"Captain Trebeis, I am here to relay my orders to the squadron. Permission to use the Communication Console?

Ok, record-sneaky guys, going to do it without Lyle, or wait?

-

Ulrand, you are also aware that Trebeis is in favour of TIE forces covering the invasion force as it advances on the Osokan capital city. Are you up to spered on the general plot?

I believe so, but would the TIE forces have to wait till after the shields down, or would the shields only disrupt their flight?

You couldn't possibly cover any forces within the city itself until the shields are down.

Even then, you are not sure what you could do. The city is full of buildings and your craft are not precision ground attack ships. Your Bombers could do 'strategic bombing' but you could be as likely to blow up Stormtroopers as Osokans- though the Generals might call that a fair exchange.

And could I confer with General Coll to see what his position would be on bombing the city?

Certainly.

Good, good.

Raising an Eyebrow, the Captain nodded in the direction of one of the Bridge COs. "Permission Granted, Ulrand. It is good to have ourselves a Replacement Squadron Leader." Pausing to look the slightly shorter man up and down, he continued. "Be sure not to fail us....."

It was a lighter greeting than usually enjoyed from the Captain. Due mainly to his respect for TIE Pilots, he formerly being one himelf.

"Oh, don't worry captain. I will not disappoint."

With this, Thrak made his way to the console and made slight changes to the flight patterns of the TIEs. As they were, they would leave a seconds's gap between radar sweeps on the far side of Lanzar. It was not significant. A ship would have to jump into hyperspace to avoid the sensors, and they would then crash into the planet. But it was better to be safe than sorry, especially since he was new here...

After this task, which took no more than a minute, he ordered the
officer whose console he had taken to go to General Coll and ask him where would be an appropriate meeting place to discuss air tactics for the upcoming battle. He then relaxed in the chair, but as much as he normally would, he did not want to appear lackadaisical to Trebeis...

Presuming that an officer comes to Coll, Coll will meet Ulrand on the bridge where he is busy communicating with the space fighters of the Empire.

"Hello," he says. "I was informed you wished to consult me with something. How may I address you?"

I think we can try to attempt this without Agent Lyle.

Ok, gimme the plan!

Once I run things over with Lana I'll post it.

Uhh, yeah, been kinda Matrix-distracted lately...

(PM me with your plan, Zink)

When the doors to the bridge slid open, Thrak pressed a few buttons on his console as he turned around in his seat. He stood straight up and saluted when he realized it must be General Coll.

"I am Thrak Ulrand, replacement Squadron Leader, and I wanted to know what your position is on bombing the city once the shields are down. In case you don't already know, we do not have the type of bombers needed to "pick" our targets, for lack of a better word. Therefore, if you were to give the word, I would instead order carpet bombing, and both Stormtroopers and Osokans would be potential casualties. So, for planning purposes, should I ready the Bombers, sir?"

Approaching and nodding to Coll, Trebeis Follows the Discussion.

"As long as I would be able to keep in touch with you for the purpose of calling off the bombing, then yes, that plan would be satisfactory," General Coll says. "It is difficult to take down Osokans, but not even they can survive proton bombs. Fair trade, I would think."
