Data on the Rebel ships is complete. This battle is ready to start. Everyone a go-go here?

I am.

Coll will pull up a brand of the Emperor's favorite popcorn to watch the battle.

No, Coll, the battle is in the afternoon- it is time for you to go to the surface and meet Drakkon.

This one is Ulrand's call.

Ok, barb, as you give orders to adjust your ship's bearing, you watch the holographic display of the situation.

Last Laugh and the escorting fighter have turned to engage. They must be mad! Three of the other vessels are diving to the atmosphere. They won't handle well in there, but frankly nor will the TIEs.

One of them (C) is fleeing orbit entirely, probably making a hyperspace run.

The six atatcking TIEs are those immediately present. Next turn another six- the rest of the Squadron- will arrive.

Two other Squadrons are near, and will arrive soon. The second is Ulrand's.

Numbers on the enemy ships are damage taken. On TIEs, it is current armur rating.

"So it Begins...." Trebeis notes Omniously.

The engagement starts! It starts badly. That enemy light fighter is being handled incredibly well. It pirouettes easily through the three Fighters bearing in on it, and lands an attack eaxactly on the cockpit. The TIE explodes; the fighter avoids all harm.

Last Laugh is under heavy attack. Its turret fire is inaccurate but drives away one fighter. It makes a front one on another, actually clipping it with fire and forcing it away too. The third fighter makes a successful attack run and pours fire into its starboard.

The other six fighters form that section have now arrived. With the Last Laugh and that fighter making up the battle, two of the smuggler ships are getting closer to atmosphere. The other one is all set for its escape run.

Team sneaky- the underground tunnels are part of a transit hub. The hub is in an enormous warehouse on the east side of the city.

I vote we check that place out...

Vote seconded.

Motion passed.

Would it be too uneconomical (for lack of a better word) to the TIEs if they ignored the fighter, and instead concentrated their fire on the other ships?

Pilots aren't very good at specific targetting, though as a large trader the ratio could shift a bit, if you want.

Any specific plan to this from team sneaky?

As much as it can, especially toward the ships that are approaching the atmosphere, but have them concentrate on them one at a time, but not so much as the Last Laugh and the fighter can tear the squads apart.

Precisely none of your ships are after those in the atmosphere. You ordered the TIEs to engage. They are engaged with the Last Laugh and the fighter. The other ships are not engaging- they are fleeing. LL and that fighter are in the way.

Something has changed, The one that was going for a hyperspace jump has turned around again and is heading back to the planet.

-

A heavy toll this turn. Turrets from the trader kill one, and thsat damaged TIE is destroyed, and the fighter claims a third. Last Laugh is hit again, and the fighter is clipped. It seems that fighter is extremely high performance; it handles like your TIEs but is shielded.

(Sasha? 😛 )

General Coll watches on, alongside Captain Trebeis.

Again, Coll, no you don't!

(I'm going down during the battle? 😑 )

Yes! It takes place in the afternoon, during which time you are down in the city to meet Drakkon.
