Coll asks someone about something who reminds him of something so he asks someone else about it who then goes to tell to someone else about it... blah, no, that's useless. You would almost certainly have no effect even if anything did get done in time... which it really did not. If you want action you must be much more decisive.
As it is, the battle is now over before anyone could have any effect on it. Final toll is about 1000 Stormtroopers dead; that is one less Trooper unit that will be available to use come the Battle.
Other than putting his ship in position, Nidar didn't really think the navy had any other input. The ground war is not his responsibility and he didn't have any fighters to send.
