USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Imperial Thread

How far ahead of the rest of the force will we arrive?

If it's in days, the first thing we should do is secure accomodation. In hours, then we'll look for accomodation, but not the best we can get.

Lyle will go an grab a bag to pack his things into from his quarters. A couple of canges of clothes, a spare pistol in his bag, and two of his mini-charges. One of the charges will strapped to his ankle. Two pistols, one on each hip. Also, make sure he has cash, and enough of it.

He'll ask Arvus where he can store his bag.

We also need a decent but simple cover story. We could say we're merchants - in which case we need some goods in the ship, or... I dunno, we need some more ideas. 😉

Ideas are always welcome.

Call it about 12 hours ahead. The five day clock only starts ticking on arrival, btw.

Our arrival, or the task force's?

What sort of things would people go to Lanzar for? Collecting Osokan weaponry?

General Coll will rally his Commanders and take a shuttle over to the Victorious, then.
Commander Janthis walked from his quarters with the map of Lanzar still on the screen.
Janthis made it to the shuttle and then did the usual military greetings with General Coll and boarded the vessel.

... Thats another 12 pages to read.

You could always be weaponry merchants. I assume Osokans are in need of those currently. It would be easy to acquire such "goods" from our Taskfroce.

The task force's.

And Lanzar City is a trading port.

Good. So, weapon traders is plausible?

And we can look like smugglers if what we've got is imperial. Better not take too much, though.

The Commissar would have to authorise something like that.

Have we got time?

Of course I am authorizing it! It is my idea. They can get some spare weapons from the magazines.

But there is the problem that I wanted to try to get some of you into Senate Mission, it would be difficult if you attract too much attention..... it should become clear after we arrive on Lanzar. But I assume simple smugglers could be fine. Quite a flexible cover.

And may get the rebels to trust us... 😈

Very well then, you guys are off to Lanzar with a shipment of varioius handarms from the taskfoce.

"I am certain the taskforce will respond adequately to all challenges," states Nidar.

The datapad describes a situatiion of 24 hours readiness over the five-day period of the operation that the Emperor has described; Victorious will be one step below full battle stations during all this time.

He has split the planet into three thirds; each ship will take one third (staying themselves above the equator), which will also be the blockading positions for each ship if one goes into effect.

Deviant has been placed in the third that includes Lanzar City. Odd- you thought you were on reserve, Trebeis.

General Atar is in the circular-tabled Conference room. All three Generals and various Commanders (including any PC Commanders who want to come) are there.

"Well, let's keep this simple," says Atar. "As the senior General here today, I want to examine all options for the possibility of a ground assault."

OOC: Am I still in the company of The Commodore and Commissar?

And it's the Deviator. 😛

My mistake.

And yes you are.

Melkor studies Nidar, wandering how deep is the game he is playing:

"What is the reasoning of placing Deviator close to Lanzar, if I might inquire?"

Studying a map, Trebeis heard the Commissar asking the Commodore the exact thing he was thinking. He nodded to Lieutenant Commander Rhodes. The man understood what he wanted, and placed himself as to catch the conversation better.

The Captain continued marking off points of interest on his diagram.

"It is the calculations of my people that anyone trying to escape the planet in the event of a blockade will attempt a low orbit escape from the city itself and then make a break to go beyond the atmosphere subsequently. Few will be silly enough to try and simply move straight upwards from lanzar City. I have therefore directed Victorious and Revenge to the most likely escape vectors.

You're not entirely convinced by that, Trebeis. You think that 4 times out of 5, people will go for the simplest option, and that would be to try and punch straight through.

(Rebels are quite silly, you know...)

"I have already stated my ideas on the matter," General Coll says, with a grim smile. "All walkers and speeders should be used to move through the jungle in relative safety and speed, then, with the shield knocked out by the taskforce going ahead, proceed to raize the city."
