"Motivation?" Lyle asks, "Sir, I have a duty to serve. Loyalty is its own reward." He takes a breath. "Have you considered the possibility that Senator Sartorus may be deceiving us?"

Esbabath makes one of his enigmatic expressions:

"Duty, you say? It is certainly the backbone of our New Order- our intimidating legions of Stormtroopers know their duty, and they are well suited to following orders, always ready to die to fullfill the Will of Emperor, to maintain peace in the galaxy. Certainly nothing less is expected from them."- He looks Agent Lyle in the eyes, smiling in slighly amused way.

"But is loyalty always enough? As you know, General Lomax was quite a loyal person, yet Lord Vader executed him for his incomptence..... What about.... Ambitions, Agent Lyle? Are you a man of ambition?

Concerning Sartorus.... I have been making deals like this before. Senator Sartorus is a very good politician- both intelligent and ambitious. He will be credited for this Treaty, and also gained a place on influential commision thanks to me. What he has to gain by betraying me? It would be foolish for him to risk the wrath of Commisariat and potentially Emperor himself, and he seemed anything but foolish."

OOC: Ush, would it be suitable if I make Lyle a lower level oficer of Commisariat, something like my personal man for "special" tasks?

Maybe send like 2 AT-AT's to our flank? Their big, so they should cover the flank. If not, we could change the order we are marching with right now into maybe a thin rectangle, so the flank won't be so small.

The AT-ATs are too big to handle the Raptors, unfortunately. It was the AT-STs and speeder bikes that were most effective in handling the beasts.

Even if they did work, AT-ATs might be big but they are not a mile long.

You have thirty thousand people moving through that jungle. That column is pretty darn big.

-

The Commissar is on his way through the city, to the appropriate lodge. It's much easier to move through here now, of course.

Lyle thinks for a moment, masking his unease at this line of questioning.
"Ambition can be many things, sir. I do not wish to become a leader of men, like yourself. I enjoy the challenges put before me, as they give me an opportunity to prove myself.

"Your explanation of Satorus' desires seems clear enough. In light of your conviction, I withdraw my earlier misgivings."

Lyle keeps on the look-out for people following them.

"So you like to prove yourself in face of challenges? This is good as well. But you are not only a warrior, but subtle man who knows how to achieve important goals...

One more question- tell me, how do you think Emperor`s Will should be fullfilled if he gives one a task?"

Of course, Commisar is trying to hurry if possible, though I assume running through the streets will bring too much attention. He is cautious as well.

Ush, didn`t Rylis and Arvus notice something useful while in the Guild Hall?

I would have told you long ago if they had.

Do we know basic information about the defences and layout? Jaiden spotted only 10 guards, but it was a very long time ago....

Everything important or relevant has been talked about.

So I should just browse the entire thread again and look for relevant information.... Perhaps I will, though I would prefer to leave it to relevant players.

"My major concerns, Marshall Atar...

"One. The way the Guild Hall is built, those 'ramps' up to the entrances could be a major issue. They look like they could be well-defended quite easily by a few Osokans. The pigs are hard to kill and can block the doorway for as long as they need and dwindle our numbers down to nothing.

"Two. If Drakkon has distributed weapons- not that they need them- to the pigs, they will likely riot at the Hall once they figure out what we're doing. If we enlongate the fight- which would happen due to point One- then we might lose our chance of getting out of there.

"Three. There's the possibility of Rebel assistance, as Vader finds possible, I believe. The Rebellion is not going to send a bunch of lackluster goons to do their bidding. No, they're going to send their best agents, and some of them are likely hardcore gunslingers. If they're aiding already vicious warriors, we could be in trouble.

"And finally, Four. Drakkon himself is the pinnacle of his race, possibly the best fighter on this planet. It's a major challenge, of course, and I'm willing to take it, but not if it's suicide. If he's assisted, he'll be too deadly for us to take."

Arvus falls silent, having made his points known to the Marshall.

Melkor, you and your party has arrived at the relevant lodge. It is surprisingly inconspicuous- or maybe unsurprisingly, seeing how hard they have been to find. The whole thing is stuck in a dingy back street.

-

"I see," says Atar. "Well, personally, I think you should be thinking more about your way in and your way out."

Does the plans to the Guild Hall that Lyle stole help at all with this?

Not really. He's not talking about the Guild Hall, he means the city.

Well, I assume that there should be some kind of entrance- do they use doorbells on this world? We certainly don`t want to scare them- most Stormtroopers will stay in the backstreet, while Esgabath and few bodyguards will look for the entrance.

Hmm, so Osokans aren`t very flashy people? I remember having great difficulties with finding a Lodge before, strange because I thought that it would be more distinquished.

Concerning Drakkon -while it would be useful for the outcome of battle to take him alive as early as possible, Commisar`s main wish is to avoid his escape or suicide.

Nah, they use big knockers, really.

Didn't Arvus and Rylis steal a map of the city at some point? I assume we'd still have that.

Yes, though that really doesn't get to the heart of the issue.

But "we" at least won`t get lost in Guild Hall, having a map and studying the place before? ( "we" does not refer to Commisar but to Imperials in general).

Stormtroopers won`t be obviously noticable in this back street?

I assume that just knocking at the entrance will be the best solution...

They are extremely noticeable!
