How to use what, sorry?

The firepower of Star Destroyers, after the shield is off. I think we can easily destroy the entire district of the city without sending ground soldiers there at first.

'Destroy' is a very relative term. You can smash it up but, as is discovered far too often when try to lvel urban environments in warfare, it doesn't produce as many military results as you want, and smahsed buldings can be defended just as well as unsmashed ones.

But of course the Captains know how to use it. It will help, it's all written in.

So Nidar, Trebeis and Atar are participating in the planning, not only Coll? This is what I wanted to know. With so many competent officers involved and assuring him of sucess Commisar feels more confident.

Of course, Drakkon couldn`t have smuggled any significant amount of heavy equipment, certainly compared to our own firepower?

By the way, I am still wondering on situation after the battle. All those Osokans offering resistance in the city should be slaughtered. Any other settlements on Lanzar can be destroyed from orbit. Then some Osokans could be enslaved like Wookies on Kashyyk, used as a labour force in "re-education" programme. Though I am not sure if they won`t be a bit too resistant to this..... How about enslaving children first, since it would be easier to make them obedient? And of course it will be supervised by Commisariat, so more power for me..... Does my Aide like this idea, Ush? I will want to make it official then.

Lyle will go down with the others.

The Osokans just have those rifles they smuggled in, unless the Rebels brought them more equipment.

Coll's orders are going to be 'Shoot to kill,' meaning the stormtroopers will have to finish off the Osokans once they're down. Any Osokans you're enslaving will be those that surrender, which I doubt they will...

Well, I definately want for every settlement where there is any technology to be destroyed. Even if some of them run to the jungle, we can destroy their civilization to the extent that they wouldn`t be able to restore it for centuries. I am sure Emperor will be happy with it. And this is personal since they tried to kill me, which is the biggest possible crime in my book.

Well, that's what I'm here for, annihilation.

Since it is highly possible, then, Coll will get the shield down, have Nidar/Trebeis bombard Lanzar City, then blow down the gates and get our men in.

And Janthis and Jaiden will be among the soldiers in advance? I think the first important task is securing the artillery inside the shield- our best Commanders should direct it.

(Your plans are good, I think, Coll. Perhaps you should repost it with all changes that have been made, making it all in one post?)

Indeed. I'll do so when we've reached our seven minutes to midnight on Lanzar...

(I think we have only several real life days left).

(And then we go gung ho on their asses. Oo-rah!)

Rex do think we should split our forces possibly having the main one razing the city and a smaller one to quickly secure the starport?

I'll post the plan today.

The Army will secure the starport once it comes across it. Coll will mandate that as well.

After all, the Army's already splitting four ways for each gate.

The Captains aren't planning the ground assault; they are simply very capable of making such a bombardment.

2 hours.

So Rylis and friends are already with the Army?

Well, i'll just wait for Coll's finalized plan. Althought I think we should get inside the shield, then get the artillery set up, and ocne we blow open the shield we can start spreading into the city from the artillery. So maybe the artillery could be the point where our forces divide in 4 parts.

...isn't that what I said? Minus the dividing at the artillery...that seems silly.

THE FINAL BATTLE PLAN

1. At the shield's border...

a) The Army will divide itself into four smaller Armies; each will then position themselves at the four gates into Lanzar City.

b) The Artillery units will make ready to move to their firing positions.

c) The Stormtroopers and AT-STs will prepare to provide covering fire for the Artillery units.

2. Once inside the shield...

a) The Artillery units will move into position and begin firing on the shield generator.

b) The Stormtroopers will do everything to keep the Artillery units functioning, at all costs. They will engage the Osokans on the walls.

c) The AT-STs are not nearly as susceptible to rifle fire as stormtroopers are. While firing to clear the top of the wall with their heavier guns, they will form protective walls around the Artillery units.

3a. Once the shield is down...

a) Coll will relay the message that the shield is down to the Captains, at which point the Star Destroyer immediately above Lanzar City will bombard the City into dust.

b) The Artillery units will hold fire until the bombardment has ceased, then resume firing at random into the City.

c) The Stormtroopers will form ranks at each gate, standing away from the gates enough for the AT-ATs to blow them apart.

d) The AT-STs will continue firing at the Osokans atop the walls.

e) The AT-ATs will quickly sweep all opposition off of the City's walls with their powerful guns. Then, they will blast apart the City gates, allowing the stormtroopers access to the City.

3b. If the shield generator is not taken out by Artillery...

a) The Artillery units will likely have been disabled or have become ineffectual; all Artillery units, if any remain, will be dissolved, their crews joining the stormtrooper ranks.

b) The Stormtroopers will have been equipped with some sort of hi-tech grappling hooks. They will proceed to rappel up the City walls and engage the Osokans on the walls once they have reached the top. Once on top, the Stormtroopers will clear the walls, then fire down into the City, open the Gates, and make their way to the shield generator. If they cannot open the gates, a few companies will be equipped with enough explosives to disable the shield generator.

c) Should the scaling of the walls prove unsuccessful or not worth the risk, a few companies of Stormtroopers will be equipped with enough explosives to open the gates.

d) The AT-STs will continue to fire upon the Osokans atop the wall. They will cease fire when friendly fire becomes possible, once the Stormtroopers are on the wall. If the Stormtroopers do not reach the top of the wall and have to blow the gates with explosives, the AT-STs will move into position to fire into the City.

4. Once inside the City...

a) The Artillery units will be dissolved and join the Stormtrooper ranks, to prevent friendly fire from the Artillery strikes.

b) The Stormtroopers will form rank and enter the City. They will keep distance with our Osokan targets for as long as they possibly can, to avoid any penalties from close-quarters combat. They will form tight ranks and storm down the main roads towards the Guild Hall, killing all Osokans in their path. And by killing, I mean that they will stop and finish off every Osokan they have gunned down. Coll also wants the Starport secured; this is mandated above the Guild Hall.

c) The AT-STs will provide covering fire from the entrances.

d) The AT-ATs will give a brief cannonade through the City gates before the Stormtroopers march in, but then will remain stationary at the gates. They will annihilate anyone who tries to get up on the walls.

e) Rylis, Arvus, and Lyle will go on their mission to seek out Drakkon and subdue him. Coll will give orders to his stormtroopers, should they come across Drakkon, not to finish him off. He will be recognized by his neurowhip, either in his hand or at his belt. Also, possibly any battle armor. If other Lodge Captains are mistaken for Drakkon, they too will be taken alive. Otherwise, all Osokans die with few exceptions.

f) Any Rebels discovered during the battle will be subdued and arrested. If it is not possible to take them alive, then they will be executed on the battlefield.

5. After the battle...

a) Any Osokans that surrender will be taken into captivity and sent to Nidar's Star Destroyer to be executed or prepared for slavery, as per plans of the Commissar.

b) Drakkon and any Lodge Captains that are captured during the battle will immediately be sent under heavy guard to Nidar's Star Destroyer.

c) Any Rebel operatives that are captured during the battle will immediately be sent under heavy guard to Trebeis's Star Destroyer. There, they will be interrogated and tortured, regardless of whether or not they have any valuable information.

d) Our Stormtrooper casualties will be cleared and sent back up to Nidar's Star Destroyer, in order to reward them with military burials on their respective homeworlds.

e) The Osokan casualties will be thrown into the Jungle as blaster-cooked meals for the wildlife.

f) The Rebel casualties will suffer a similar fate.

Have I forgotten anything?

Every one of the four groups will have artillery units, or just one of them will? And added to that, which group will Janthis be in and which group will Jaiden be in? Which group is in charge of taking down the Starport? The Guild Hall? With which group will Lyle, Arvus, and Rylis go with at first?

The Artillery units are from every group. There are four groupings of the Armies. It has no effect on you or your men, other than that you need to defend them.

Janthis and Jaiden will be with Coll's group, as they are now.

Other than that, I feel no need to really specify who takes what, it's whoever gets their first and kills everything on the way.

Rylis, Arvus, and Lyle are doing whatever they want. They can start off in Coll's group, if they so choose. But that's up to them, they're not my soldiers.
