USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Imperial Thread

"Damn," Coll repeats for the umpteenth time this engagement. "The street war with the Osokans has not gone as planned. Those Gungan catapults were an unexpected problem that has cost us dearly. Before I get credited with any of this mess, I wish to note that I was not informed.

"Janthis' attempt to take the North Wall failed, it seems.

"We have taken the South Wall, however."

"Let`s wait for further reports- we shall see if our forces finally managed to crush the defenders of South Arm. And I hope that we manage to hold the West. I warned you to be careful about striking at the center right now, General." -Commisar responds flatly.

"Oh, and those catapults...... was anyone else from Naboo spotted with them?"

"I've only received rumors from the men. Word has it that the Duchess that escorted Senator Galahad was present."

"Interesting.... make sure to make a list of people that have seen her. I have also lost contact with my "agents." I hope that you haven`t sent them to death..."

"I'm sure they've survived."

"Good, they may have more information about the Rebels."

Arvus will find an abandoned building behind our lines for himself and Rylis to rest in through the next turn.

Jaiden stands at the top of the wall proudly as the stormtroopers massively storm in, slaughtering the Osokans.

"General Coll! Commander Jaiden of the 99th Platoon. The South Wall is taken, and the Empire is victorious at this battle! I have also wonded one of the rebels that seemed to be one of the leaders in the rebellion, althoguht the other one, the Geonosian, I was unable to take hold off. I have transmitted signals from the 102nd platoon which was near the Street battle that they have lost, and I have been transmitted a signal from Janthis that the assault on the North Wall has failed too. We have been crippled in our assault but not defeated... Further orders, sir?"

"Hold the wall," Coll sighs. "I need a full assessment before I can dictate further orders..."

Yes, we need the strategic results, because we don`t know whether this turn ends in disaster, moderate sucess, or something in between, though I have a bad feeling. Commisar also wants comments from Atar. Is he eager to take more active role in commanding our forces?

And I blame Vader for having problems in the air again. A pity I cannot do it officially....

Vader doesn't think any of you are competent enough to look after the air units. He was also assured by Coll that the battle would be easy so air support was not needed.

TURN 3 RESULTS

-----

Result for Battle at the South Wall- Defenders Retreat (Retreat requirement cancelled)

Again, the Imperials get a solid foothold on the walls and try to move into the city, and again they cannot rout the defending troops and their position becomes untenable. No advance is made and the sector remains under Rebel control.

I defending Warrior unit takes a hit from the battle.

The currently undamaged AT-ST unit takes a hit from Rebel air attack

Thanks to the orbital bombardment, the South wall has finally been breached.

-

Result for Battle in the City- Attackers Routed (Reroll used)

The Imperial atttack is a complete disaster. With their armour met by anti-armour weapons the Imperials actually are in inferior strength to their foes. Add to that the difficulties of fighting in thr city, their tactical reverse and that the defenders had a re-roll available and it all amounts to a small catrostrophe.

This catastrophe is made larger by Imeprial troop movements outside the walls that prevent efficient retreat.

The two ST units both takes hits and go to each of the outside West Arm locations, bouncing trooper units to the reserve.

This is the limit of Imperial flexibility. The two trooper units in the attack are both unable to retreat and are destroyed.

-

Result at Battle for the North Wall- Firefight

Looks like this fight will go on for a while.

The North Arm (East) trooper unit takes a hit, also the North Arm (West) speeder bike unit. As does the defending militia unit that was already hit. This unit is destroyed.

"Well, it seems like General Coll took too big a gamble in his assault at the center. How confident you are in our victory now, Marshall Atar?"- Commisar doesn`t lose calm, but there is very grim tone in his voice now....

So we lost the West Arm sector to Rebels? Was the source of Rebel re-roll Drakkon`s leadership?

That would seem a reasonable assumption.

"Victory? Inevitable, even if we just have to sit here bombing them for days. Victory with any amount of credit, that is different. We will have to start over again at the West and Coll has already withdrawn his assault forces there. More time needed to get them back. It's all down to time."

"But surely, there is still reasonable chance to win this battle by the end of the day? Would you be confident, being in charge of the assault?"

Atar is fairly sure that even a wookie could have the battle won by the end of the day, though even that won't being any credit. The high casualties are a shame as well.

Is he willing to assume the overall command from Coll?

That would have several consequences.

First it would pass strategic control outside that of players save the bombardment.

Secondly it would remove Coll's tactical bonus from the battlefield.

Why it would stop Coll from leading as well, as second in command? And I thought I would still have an option of authorizing or vetoing strategic moves as Commisar....

Commisar will ask Atar for his strategy to win if he assumed command right now( PM?)

Atar will just order issues to his troops without consultation. He knows he would be in a good position to because you would be running low on people to fire.

Hmm, but he is willing to take a risk, so he see a reasonable chance to avoid humilitation, as he is the cautious type?

How would this move make me look? It would make the responsibility shared between Coll and Atar- actually it was Commisar who gave the assault to Coll, but it would be reasonable to us every resource at this point...

What would happen with tactical players? Atar knows that I want Drakkon to be captured, independents weren sent mainly to ensure this?
