Is Coll admited with the Commissar to see Drakkon?

If you so wish.

I do so wish.

Narrik thinsk again. "If we have teh men available more than one would work nicely, but one Squadron would be less lilkely to be spotted sooner maybe we shodl send in one squad first."

(Just to let you think, TIE fighters aren't exactly supposed to be sneaky vessels; they're attack craft that are meant to completely obliterate the enemy...just a thought...)

Yes, Nidar will make that point.

"The idea of a blockade is that it is very visible," says Nidar. "It's not meant to be an ambush."

-

Drakkon eyes you up, Melkor. He's not the hugest Osokan you have ever seen, but you quickly get a feel for what is different- in his eyes, constantly watching, evaluating; a quick-wittedness that perhaps the others of his kind lack.

"Welcome to Lanzar," says Drakkon. "As the representative of my people, I welcome you, the representative of your Emperor.

"I did not kill this creature, that was many centuries ago. But it was this whip that made the kill possible.

"May I ask, what manner of man are you? I do not understand your rank."

Lyle would like to tell Jaiden to move his troops to the starport. Is it possible to contact Coll now that he's in the throne room, Ush?

It would be good, too if somebody could think of a way to allow the stormtroopers inside - could Jaiden get inside with a few of his men, Ush? Lyle will try a law roll to try and think of a legal reason for the stormtroopers to enter. I know it'll probably not work, but it's worth a go, I reckon.

Actually, Ush, I am not really sure about it myself. I was under impression that Commisar is a part of the executive branch of the Empire, but you emphasize the fact that regional governors and Commisars are being developed to replace the governance of the Senate. So there is no real division between executive, legislative and judiciary branches of goverment in Republic, like in Great Britain when you have the members of House of Lords as supreme court, and members of the goverment are also part of the Parliament?

If Empire was a 21st century civilized country, my character would be something resembling a minister with no pernament portfolio?

You represent the part of the system that is both political and military. The point is that Tarkin was both an Admiral AND the most powerful political Governor in the Empire; it is a facet of dictatorship that military and politics get so blurred.

You are the same on a lower level. You have a solid military rank but also great political power.

-

You don't have Law, Lyle. And nor do you have ran Talking wk to order Commanders!

You can talk to Coll, but only if he excuses himself from the meeting.

I guess Jaiden wouldn't mind, he would have to however ask permission from Coll and Melkor, and I guess that I could tell the Osokans that I came to the starport under the Commisar's orders, which should maybe let me enter the starport? I don't really think some Osokans would block the entrance to the starport from 100 stormtroopers.

You can enter the starport, but Lyle can tell you that the Osokans are guarding that docking bay. If you try and force entry, they'll fight; Osokans are like that.

"If I may, General Vantos Coll of the Imperial Military," General Coll introduces himself to the Guildmaster. "A Commissar is much like the Governors employed by the Empire, but on a lesser scale. He is a combination of military ranking and political knowledge that the Emperor himself makes great use of."

Can Coll or Melkor tell Drakkon to let the Stormtroopers in? Say for investigation or something?

TELL him? No.

-

"So, you are a leader of armies, but he is more important?" asks Drakkon.

What about to ask him?

"It appears so," General Coll replies, with a slight grin. "Politics make the Galaxy function."

(*has flashbacks to Zeitonian questioning Galder's logic on Takuan being powerful but weak*)

Could Jaiden position his troops around the dock so that they have blocked the exits? As long as he doesn't try to force his way in?

Ask him? Let's just say he's not the amiable type.

Blocking the starport is like blockading the orbit.

"So it seems," says Drakkon. "Do you bring me some message or ultimatum from your Emperor? I assume you have come with business."

-

Janthis- your sweep is finsiehd, nothing odd.

But five men have failed to return.

"Indeed, Emperor gave me much authority, and I can do more for you than Andran. Yes, the old Senator may claim that he represents the ultimate authority in the Empire, but in realilty it is the Emperor that effectively governs the galaxy, not the Senate. Senate has never made a major decision against the will of Emperor, you can ask Andran about it.

And he is the one who commands the great Imperial Army and Navy- a fraction of which is currently over Lanzar. Those mighty ships are the newest models, and have enough firepower to raze every city on your world. And the officers that command those 3 Star Destroyers will listen to me, not Andran or any other Senator." -Melkor speaks loudly and with confidence, seeming to enjoying himself. He gets a but closer to Drakkon, and gives him a stern look:

"I am only telling you the truth Guildmaster- no matter what papers Andran signs with you, it shall not help you if Emperor rejects it. And believe me, he is extremelly disatisfied with Osokans, especially with you, who overthrew Matadan. He ordered me to solve this issue in definitive way, so it will never again trouble him. Only I can help you to avoid his wrath."

"I understand his anger," says Drakkon. "Matadan was his 'man', after all. A choice which betrays either desperation or poor judgment.

"The right for us to go against that will has been proven twicefold. Once by the traditions of my people, who rejected him in the way that is ours. And once by the ways that I understand the 'Sovereign' systems work, in that I have been chosen by my people.

"You come with mighty weapons? I respect that. I am here to defend my people with honour. I will do that."
