By now Shatter had finished her food and begun to clean up, turning off the heat under the simmering pot and leaving the lid on. She left the room and made her way outside and began to clean up the mess left by the Sentinels.

"Luck had nothing to do with it. I believe that I am destined for greater things so survival was no real problem. One day everything shall be better for the both of us."

Kyle swallows hard before pushing her food away; a sudden cold weight settling in the pit of her stomach. Nakoma took up her hand and held it tightly and she couldn't help but squeeze it back. It was true that she knew Nakoma for a long time now, by her standards anyway, and she had never heard him speak of his past as she didn't speak of her's. Something too painful for her to want to remember.

She straightened her back against the kitchen chair with a blank look, "My own history is less..flashy" she made an attempt at a dry humor joke; more for her own sake then their's. She cleared her throat, "I just-I need some air.." Pulling her hand from Nakoma's grip Kyle excused herself from the table and made her way outside quickly.

Shatter heard the front door of the manor open as she hoisted a large peice of what was probably a wall onto her shoulder with seeming ease. Looking over at the now slightly ajar door and a smaller figure making its way down the front stairs she recognised who it was and spoke out loudly enough for the girl to hear.

"Wanna talk about it or atleast help me clean up?"

Kyle looked up sharply upon hearing Shatter's voice, a startled look on her face. She quickly covered it with a faint smile for the older women's sake. Kyle didn't like questions of concerned adults so much; although she couldn't deny that she was flattered that they cared. "I'll help you clean!" she called back as she neared her.

The other women was moving things Kyle couldn't dream of moving and it definately caught her attention. She mentally noted not to get on her bad side. Ever. "The food you made was great by the way..thank you" she said awkwardly before setting off to clean. She turned away and began gathering mediam sized pieces to pile them up in one spot.

Shatter allowed the peice to slide off her shoulder as her hands caught it with relative ease. The small organised pile consisted of peices that where atleast twice her size. She smiled over her shoulder a little and watched the younger woman for a minute.

"Dont pick up anything with glass in it or metal, just fabrics and plaster ok? I've got everything else covered. Oh and you're welcome, cookings a passion of mine. Just glad others enjoy it just as much as I do."

"I suppose its time for me to get ready." He says as he excuses himself from the table and makes his way upstairs to the bathroom so that he may freshen himself up for whatever he has planned.

Kyle nods and continued with gathering the bits and pieces she could lift on her own. She smiled to herself at Shatter's words. She opened up to them in the kitchen and Kyle turned tail and ran. How pathetic was she.

"..Could you teach me to cook like you, some time?" She asked shyly. There was more to her words then she let on, a sort of opening up to someone other then Nakoma. When Nakoma didn't follow her outside a bit of hurt settled in her chest but she pushes it away.

Nakoma then moves to his temporary room and opens one of his bags. He pulls out a purple suit that he stole and quickly irons out any wrinkles. Nakoma then changes and fixes his hair a bit so that one side of his face is covered with his hair. He looks at himself one more time and admires how beautiful he looks. He then walks down the steps and stops at the door looking outside at Kyle and Shatter. He doesn't want to interrupt so he just waits for one of them to notice him.

Shatter put another oversized peice of metal down in a separate pile and stretched as she nodded.

"Yeah..ofcourse...how about tomorrow after all this mess is cleaned up? I always find that cooking's a good way to relax."

"Yeah?" She paused and stands up straight to look at her, a genuine smile crosses her face, "Okay!" She ran her hands over her back ,hoping to rub out the kinks in it. In the process she smudged her shirt with dirt.

"Do you want something to drink?"

Kyle turned to walk into the house and nearly jumped when she saw Nakoma standing in the doorway. Her eyes traveled the length of his body until they reached his face, "Hey.." Her cheeks were tinted in pink but unable to be seen under the dirt smudges on her face.

He lets of a small confident smile and turns around showing off his outfit.

"Do you like it? I hope you don't mind but I wanted to look extra nice for our little outing tonight.

He then opens the door and steps out. "So you ready?

Her eyebrows raise in surprise, "Heh..well..I'm not ready right now..but I will be! ..In a few minutes. Wait here!" She turns to Shatter and throws her an apologetic smile, "I promise I will help you tomorrow just like we planned!" She called then ran into the house and dashed up the stairs pushing past others along the way and spouting random 'Sorries!' as she went.

She stripped down quickly and climbed into the shower. The blonde adjusted the water and lathered up a wash cloth and cleaned herself. She rinsed her body off then washed her hair. After several minutes she climbed back out of the shower.

She dipped into the purple duffle bag still in the bathroom and pulled out some of her clothes. Having no idea what Nakoma had in store for her she didn't know what to wear! Kyle pulled a towel off the rack without turning around and dabbed at her hair before adding gel to give it the same 'wet look' she was sporting earlier. She added light, natural looking makeup to her face but no cover up and then went back to figuring out what to wear.

"Err! I really like the pink dress..but it's really formal..Maybe something purple to match his..OR something white!" Kyle looked at herself in the mirror and pictured herself in each outfit before looking down and choosing the purple evening gown. It sparkled when she turned in the light while being styled as to highlight her curves but not trashy.

She dressed quickly and added a pair of black heels to finish it off before appearing at Nakoma's side down stairs once more. If only her parents could see her now...

Shatter watched the younger girl retreat then reappear minutes later. Smiling slightly at the two she turned back to her work silently and picked up a more 'resonable' sized peice of rubble.

"So are you coming with us or not?" He says to Shatter as she picks up more trash. He doesn't care if he comes or not but he chooses to be polite for Kyle.

"You may as well drop what you're doing. They're not paying you and it won't change anything if its still there in the morning am I right?"

Shatter looked over her shoulder and shook her head.

"You two go and have fun, I don't go out much anymore. It's safer that way but you two be careful, you both know how crazy the world is outside of these gates."

After dropping the large peice of plaster near to the pile she dusted her hands off and continued.

"I'm not doing this to be paid or to get recognition, I'm helping simply because I can and if you weren't so self absorbed you'd be able to see that."

The tone of dissapproval for his character was palpable. She'd always had a problem with people with superiority complexes, they made life for those around them all that little more difficult because they simply wouldn't accept the fact that they where just like everyone else.

Kyle clasped her hands together in front of her but didn't say a word. After a moment she simply reached out and placed her hand on Nakoma's shoulder to get her point across. She smiled apologetically at Shatter from the boy's side and turned to go back through the house hoping Nakoma would have the good sense to follow.

Kyle had not been ready to go out tonight as she didn't know there were set plans but she was confident in the outfit she had put together in such short notice and the positive attitude she was sporting despite the raging emotions inside of her.

Nakoma was ready to leave but apparently Kyle wasn't so he followed her into the house. He really wanted to get on with the surprise but I guess that he has to wait on her.

"Yeah...I got dressed up for an event outside of this mansion."

When Nakoma didn't follow Kyle sighed to herself, pushed her true emotions aside and rejoined him at his side. A smile graced her lips as she looped her arm around his and held to it. She then laid her head against his shoulder and gazed up at him, "Shall we go then?" She asked in a honey'd voice.

"Yes let's depart. I think you'll like this."

As they begin to walk to their destination Nakoma decides to find out what she thinks about their new home.

"Sorry about earlier. I promise I didn't mean it to mean to be mean. I was only trying to be logical. I mean come on Kyle the trash will still be there in the morning if she left it and joined us and no harm would've been done if she left it and finished tomorrow. I'm sorry Kyle, but that place is too serious for me.
