Space pirate (metroid) Vs Elite (Halo)

Well, can you post any pages from the Halo book that show any of your points? I guess I can conceed the point about the Spartans, though. It just seems odd that with end of Earth roaming so near that they would choose to send the Spartans on another mission, instead of fortifying their position. I think that it was a big mistake on the part of the author to allow the Spartans to survive. It ruins the legendary status of Master Chief. The point on the bomb I am not willing to concede. Even if it wouldn't be practical to lift it, the Chief shouldn't need to have to use five separate pulls instead of one long one. And it's very rare for the Chief to say what's on his mind if ever. Throughout the game he only talks either when someone is speaking to him or when it is necessary.

I enjoyed the role the other spartans played... there is hopefully going to be a few more books in the series... They should tie up any loose ends... MC was lucky really, If he had been on reach he would of died as well...

His suit inceases his base strength by 5, His upgrades make his bones unbreakable and his muscell upgrades increase his strength by another factor... So hes well over the 10 ton mark already, Concidering peek humans have a strength of about 800lb...

I did provde alot of quotes from the book in the master chief vs samus thread...

Bum did say that it was an Elite from Halo 1...so wouldn't that mean that this is a Space Pirate from Metroid 1?

Shaodow, did you even read the first posts?

2) you basing that on there names... Not there actual abilites.. They were called engineers by marines who know nothing... Hardly countered...
3) You proved nothing. Only that there might not have one. Even though the arb has one... who has old armour, So don't put good tech in new armour?? what a stupid statement....
4) MC can punch through a concrete wall... He has punched through metal walls... Can pull that bomb... I think he has more then 1 ton of strength.. Elites are just as strong... 25tons to 40 tons... thats a ruff range... Still you haven't proved anything about SP yet...

Elites are stronger
Elites have motion detectors
SP and elites are equal in terms of guns
Close quater combat would be won by elites with swords, Closer without swords.
Tacticaly they are about the same.
Elites have regen shields, In a prolonged fight they have a significant advantage.

Blue elites do not have energy swords. Never have I seen one pull it out and slice me in two with it. I could be running straight at them and they will just keep shooting. Now if they have the inteligence that you say they do then the elite would obviously pull his sword out, but he doesn't meaning that he doesn't have one. Also one difference between the game and the book is that the elite does not have that much strength. They can not smash objects out of the way like they could if they were that strong. Also how can elites even have radar they have no eye piece or anything to show them information about their surroundings. It's not like they have a helmet over them that can show them their enemies positions on the side. SP's have swords too, so the close quartars battle isn't necessarily won by the elite just like that. SP's have alot of health as well. They can take multiple missle hits and won't go down without taking a substantial amount of fire.

Play Halo 2 again. You (as the Arbiter) in the first Arbiter level will see some Blue Elites with energy swords

Who says the motion sensor has to be on an eye piece.. It could be on his wrist????

Its a game mechanic that means the elites can't distroy the maps... But how can an elite do more damage with 1 punch then a 1/2 maganize in a machine gun??? Thats right brute strength....

Heres an interesting segment on the strength and speed of an elite, also explains how they can take alot of damage without the armour....

"The Covenant Elite is a remarkable species with great physical strength and resilience: strong, fast, and extremely capable with proper training. They are bipeds and bear a superficial resemblance to humans from a distance, an illusion shattered upon closer inspection. In addition to standing approximately 8' 6" when in a fully upright position, their head is more reptilian than humanoid with a quadri-hinged mandibled mouth which opens at the bottom, hence the nicknames given to them by humans: "Split Chin" and "Squid Face." Elite torsos are similar to the torso of a human, although the chest and abdomen are much wider, almost twice that of a well-muscled human, and they also appear to have a double set of pectoral muscles and a more muscular back. Elite shoulders are nearly identical in structure to human shoulders, only longer in length and thicker. Their hands have four digits, two fingers and two opposable thumbs, which allow them to use most equipment designed for humans. (Conversely, this allows humans with the correct understanding to operate Covenant equipment.) The feet of Elites are digitigrade, which allows them to jump greater distances and run much faster than the human norm. The Elites' toe configuration resembles the cloven hooves of various Terran mammals; although Elites wear a soled boot, the overall shape of the "hooves" are still visible.

As Elites can survive on Earth with no respiratory equipment, they apparently breathe oxygen. Due to their lack of nostrils and constantly opened jaws, inhalation seems to occur entirely through the mouth. The Elite's body, muscles and skeleton also seem to be composed of similar materials to those of the human body, though probably tougher and with a shorter recovery time, owing to the Elite's higher evolutionary state; this can be especially seen in Halo 2, when the Arbiter recieves a bullet wound in the chest and recovers fully within the space of a few minutes, presumably due to the increased strength of an Elite's immune-defense system."

Have you ever seen one on its wrist? No I didn't think so. Have you ever seen them look at their wrist? No you haven't. When you are the arbiter you don't look at your wrist ever. The radar is only an ingame mechanism to help the player. Regular enemy elites do not have them. So therefore the elite would not be able to detect a cloaked space pirate or anything around it using a radar device. Okay so the elite can carry a sword big deal. How does it help them if they rarely if ever bother to use it. You can play as MC throughout all of halo and you almost never see elites switch mid battle to the plasma sword. The SP has a sword too which it could always block with or counter attack with.

Are you color blind? Those dudes were more black than blue and why should we trust a beta video by the way?

Apparently they're retards whose only defense is to accuse us of being fan boys just because we support the most dangerous bounty hunter in the galaxy.

And Hit and Miss, I'm not going to go searching through another thread just to find your quotes. Either post the link to the page or post the new quotes hear. But I could give you the actual quote from the book. Do you want just the story part or also the part about its specific function in combat.

just the book and page number I will read myself... having read the books Do you agree that MC is around the 25-40 ton mark??? I'm not accusing you of fanboyism for your support.. But for peoples refusal to face facts sometimes..

we have had post after post that the books are BS.. but when I ask a metroid fanboy why, there dumbstruck...
Its just constant elite bashing, "elites are this, elites are that"... Instead of proving anything about SP that could prove to be an advantage...

The books are bs cuz the facts arent backed up by anything and you youself havent given us any reason why anything from the books should be considered as facts or proof of anything.
For example the elite being able to do a 25-40 ton punch isnt backed up by anything and if that was true then if an elite would melee attack a warthog, the elite would have sent it flying, but does it do that? No, it hardly moves two inches.
and you keep ignoring the fact that we've already aswered your stupid question about why the books are bs, deal with it

You can actually distroy a warthog with you melee it enough...

But its a game... It doesn't include all the facts... Just like in metroid prime if you fall off the map SA gets teleported back up... Does here suit have transporters? or does she have an angel looking out for her?? no... its just a game mechanic... In the same respect you can't cut off MC/elite limbs with the sword... Why not?? it cuts through his suit just fine??? reason??? its a game mechanic... The designers didn't bother creating combustable corpses...

The books stick to the story line very closely... Even the game relys on the books to fill in the blanks... there are loads of questions that rise from tha games that the books solve.

Any other BS I can ram back down your thoat ice???

Yeah, the "facts" that came AFTER the games. So those "facts" are as good as imaginary. You are seemingly the only fanboy who seems to eat that BS the books are giving you.

Lol... cause I'm the only one participating in this thread??? there arn't that many who have actually read the books...

Then again.. The upgrades came before the games.. If you read the manuals you will see it says he was biologicaly upgraded... But I ask.. Where in the games does it show he was biologicaly upgraded???... it doesn't... So if we assume he was a normal man in a suit... Why isn't he dieing like all the other humans??? whats soo special about him???

The games don't portray his abilities as it would be like playing with "bullet time" at regular speed... just as the films will show him, shooting and reacting like crazy....

You seem hell bent on denying anything and everything halo... the facts that are concistanly followed throught the halo world, and your proof?? game mechanics and minor discrepancies. The sure all games have them! look at any one of the starwars games... There filled with problems that any jedi with half his skills would do, but for us... there challenging cause we can't use the force like a jedi could... But does that mean that the jedi wouldn't have that power in a fight????

Perhaps you should come up with something a little better then belief..

Were we talking about MC? No, we werent.

what are you on about...

I ment that as I'm the only one whos sidin with elites whos actually read the books...

Elites have similar abilities compared to MC... so I can use his a guide rule...

Thought I don't expect you to actually post anything thats half relievent... You haven't so far! why start now???!

Still...
