The cops show up at the scene of Morlun's brutal beating of Spidey. Rather than have to wade through an entire SWAT team, Morlun escapes, confident he can finish the job later. The cops try to deliver on-scene first-aid, which includes removing Spidey's mask to make sure he's not choking on blood in his mouth. Looking at him, he's so badly beaten that he's unidentifiable.
At the hospital, the Iron Man, Cap, and Cage argue with the admitting nurse while Jessica Drew sneaks MJ into Spidey's room. The nurse tells the Avengers that they can't remove Spidey from the hospital because his injuries are too severe, but that in any case, he's going to die soon.
While MJ is at Peter's side, Morlun arrives to finish his meal. She tries to fight him off, but he overpowers her and breaks her wrist. Peter is still comatose, but the spider part of him is able to act instinctively to save his mate, essentially piloting his body. It uses heretofore-unseen stingers to pin Morlun to the floor, and, from what I could tell, does the same life-force draining trick on Morlun that he wanted to do on Spidey. Morlun's body turns to dust, and Peter wakes up long enough to tell MJ he loves her before he dies. Iron Man wraps the body in a sheet and flies it out of the hospital.

It's not really a major change. Spider-Man's character has been gradually decaying for about two years now. He's not the everyman that comic fans found so endearing. He's a rich, famous superhero now living in the Avengers tower. Oh and he has occasional bouts with some Indian tribal magic.
I'm all for change as long as it's evolutionary.
Ah you mean that. Yes things went good for Spidey. He has a safe place, no worries about money. Life is good to him.... well except the fact that he will die. But we know he wont die. But even the authors stated that Petes life is going to good so I think they will change that things after Evolve or Die story.
But I hope he stays as Avenger. Not forever but for a while it would be cool.

He's still an everyman.
Spiderman is FAR from rich. He doesn't even have a job. How is he making any money?
He's mooching off Tony Stark.
It seems like you didn't read it; but recently Spiderman's house was destroyed by a villain and Tony promised to take care of him, MJ, and Aunt May since Spiderman is in the Avengers. (And well, he's earned it.)
Peter is not happy with the situation but MJ is. He also got fired from his school teaching job.
So, I don't see how all that constitutes as rich. If anything, he's in major debt.
He's not famous for being an Avenger yet either. As far as I know, the New Avengers still havn't gone public and the government hates their guts.
He's infamous throughout New York still though; but that has always been the norm.
