He did have a good showing. He was totally stalemating a being who is his absolute equal until another person with his power level jumped in and boxed his ears.
It could be that he has allied himself with Annihilus because he is laying low with him waiting to get close until Thanos finally makes a weapon from the power cosmic then he betrays him and tries to take all the resources Annihilus had for himself.
It could be Annihilus is just that powerful and Thanos knows it is better to learn them from the inside out instead of taking them head on
It could be Thanos just really wants to work for him but I doubt it.
not sure but i think it hasn sonething to do with thanos making a play at Galactus role in the universe....but woth Aegis and Terberous showing up thats a complete monkey wrench in his plans...remember that thanos may not weild cosmic energies in the same fashion as the heralds do...meaning being MADE of it, his mutant ability to store and be a conduit for ambient cosmic sources are just as good. so he he can make a weapon infused with the power cosmic any time he wants..the same way annhilus has the cosmic control rod...i guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I dont think Thanos wants the PC as he said there are diff. power source that equals or even rival that of the PC but maybe he can access the cosmic cube that made Galan, Galactus. Maybe thats what the prize he bargained from Annihilus for accessing the PC. With it there are so many things Thanos can learn about, maybe he wants to be the next devourer Thanactus 😄, that would be lame dough, but deffinetly something he could used for another upgrade 😈 above skyfather level.
