Annihilation: Return of Marvel's Cosmics

drax is sooo weak these days

im sure when he meets thanos agin he'll pull something out of his ass. or maybe he'll just go thru another evolution b4 they face off

I dunno why people think Drax is weak. He took out freaking Lunatik like it was nothing.

IMO, this version will be the most dangerous and formidable yet.

lol drax versus thanos = ownage.

haha. i am just curious to see what thanos is orchestrating, because i have a looming suspicion that he is the real threat of annihilation, not annihilus.

I doubt it, Thanos is pretty much a force for good these days, unless the writers are going to just ignore years of character development he'll likely betray Annihilus at some point to help his universe. I wouldn't be surprised if when he does make his move against Annihilus Drax screws everything up by trying to kill Thanos.

yeah.....no

I want to see Drax and Thanos face off. I don't care who wins. As long as it is done well.

Man... Bryan Hitch would have been perfect for this project.

Just picked up the prelude and #1. Good stuff. Wish I could afford the individual character runs, but it's not really in the cards I guess.

Big G biting it was a shock. Helluva way to open up a 6-issue run.

Marvel is kicking ass this year between this and Civil War....I guess they just had to make up for HoM, lol.

He is like a green Riddick from pitch back.

Agreed.

And also, I didn't mean to state Jim Lee as the only artist to do the job, but there are plenty of artists who I think could have done a better job than whoever is doing it currently.

David Finch would be cool. So would Bryan Hitch.

David Finch's art is made of same damn face and to damn dark...he's art is more suited for a Batman or DD book then a Cosmic story.

and for all the time it takes for Hitch to come out with an issue his work has never seen that great to me. His art reminds me way to much like Lands but with more ink.

Andrea Di Vito is a really good artist..but for some his art seems different then from what I've seen in YA and the Thing. looks more dark and murky in Annihilation but i think that just might be the colorist fault.

Just enter the 3 digit-number/letter where it asks. Click download, You may have to wait about 45-60 seconds. Then it'll say download, click download and it will go, save it wherever you want; easy as that.

If you still need help, I'll post some scans of what I mean:

Well, the reason I suggested Finch was because in Annihilation #1, there were some battle scenes/trench-like scenes that I could picture him drawing. Like, a dark, wet dirty environment where the battle is taking place. He could make you not want to be there, fighting in the battle.

And as for Hitch, who I consider to be the better candidate, he's definitely demonstrated that he could handle anything Annihilation threw at him. He can draw cities/environments getting destroyed very well (as seen in Ultimates vol. 1), and not to mention he can most definitely draw alien invasions (Ultimates vol. 2) and larger characters (Giant Man). All of this guys work just tells me he would have been a perfect fit for the job. Not to mention he draws kickass battles.

DiVito is simply not that good. Especially for a large project like this. I mean, it could be worse... but I can't think of a single reason they would pick him for a big event. His work looks like a 90's cartoon show.

Guess will have to disagree. Even with the battle scene's it's still multi colored aliens with multi color uniforms shooting beams of colorful energy at each other......I just don't see Finch's art suiting a title like this...

98% of the time i buy a book because of the writing. I just can't wait 3-5 months between issues for slightly better art

i think he's good....and i rather have a consistent on time good artist then a slightly better very late one.

First off, you do realise that IF Finch was the artist, that wouldn't have an affect on the color, right? The artist that draws the art usually doesn't color it as well. Meaning that his art could still be multicolored and so forth. I'm assuming that you're basing most of your judgement from his work in Moon Knight, which is, indeed, very dark. But he also worked on the New Avengers, which is obviously a team book and plenty colorful. I'm not saying he would be the best person for the job, because he'd be far from it, but I just think he'd be a lot better than Divito.

Well, if you buy it for the writing, then I guess I could see why you don't mind the art. I, for one, buy a book for both the writing AND the art. So I guess we're just different readers.

Who says that better art needs to be "very late?" Is that some requirement that I was unaware of?

your right.

looking back on my new avengers issues most of the dark problems seems to be caused by the inker and colorist....it's just to bad that Finch seems to be fond of them. I think same inker and colorist are doing the moon knight series.

I still like DeVito better then finch though🙂

sadly now a day yes 🙁

I wanna see Nova and/or Ronan go head to head with Ravenous or one of the heralds. Really curious to see how powerful Nova is compared to a herald and how powerful Ronan's universal weapon is. Be nice to have some feats from it to compare it to Mjolnir.

When they collect this into a paperback, how many issues will it be?
All these spinoff series to keep track of...

Two things. Mjolnir has overpowered the Universal Weapon in a direct confrontation before. Also, according to his bio, Ronan doesn't use the Universal Weapon anymore. Instead its a weaker version of it.
