Annihilation: Return of Marvel's Cosmics

I just read (or mostly read) #2, and there were only a few scans that got me excited, not near as much as the first one. The next few are gearing up to be badass though.

Yeah, I read it, really didn't have much; lets just say its not looking good for nova, drax, etc and friends right now..

I want to see Nova really cut loose. The last guy who had the full Nova force dominated Quasar and Firelord like nothing. Ravenous should be easy to take down.

Can anyone give me a little more info on something? A friend told me about Annihillis in Asgard, and I wanted to get a better understanding on what happened there.

I hear that he fought Thor, and beat him. Then went on to fight Odin, but only for a short time before getting his ass kicked.

And what about the federation (or whatever) of worlds that were b!tching about earth back during Maximum Security?... and the Ruul? (super-evolved Kree)... has Ego even been mentioned? Why hasn't Dr Strange felt something going on? Quasar surely would have warned Earth when he first heard about the wave, Starfox and the Titans should have been involved by now considering they usually take some responsibility for dealing with Thanos.... anyone read anything about Adam Warlock? is he getting involved?

Really... I mean c'mon... there's so many opportunities for former enemies to team up for the first (and only) time here... they all have to live in the MU as well... I doubt they want to be slaves to Annihilus anymore than the Kree and others do

Didn't you hear? The Shi'ar won't be in Annihilation because Brubaker is using them in Uncanny.

That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard (in the last minute anyway)

So...... because a few of them are involved with a handful of mutants..... they're just going to let the other 200,000,000,000 members of the Shi'ar empire die in a universe shaking attack?.... or are they just hoping that the Kree and Skrull empires will do all the heavy lifting for them.... because everyone knows they always work so well together

where is epoch during all this? The Stranger, Shaper, The Elders, etc..?

there on vacation im guessing its gonna be interesting if they show up though especially with those two galactus level beings.

I really liked issue 1, and issue 2 was pretty good too, but it didnt live up to the hgih expectations i had after #1. I really liked how Firelord is finally getting some respect and finally not jobbing anymore. I mean, he went from a guy who wasconstantly getting whooped by guys he shouldnt have been such as Spiderman to destroying a major annihilation wave fleet and defeating the Queen Extirpia. I mean, now that he's not jobbing, he looks alot more formidable. For example, normally i wouldve said Stardust > Red Shift > Firelord, but now after his annihilation showings i'd say Firelord is the most powerful of the 3. Im just really happy to see my favorite herald finally get some respect.

What I was wondering was... If Galactus was beaten so easily how did he trap them in the first place?

maybe he barely defeated them or had help who knows or maybe he was stronger back then, he use to only have to feed so often not every other minute like now.

I'd like to see something like the stranger and in-betweener vs aegis and tenebrous

Nah... they have to let Galactus reasert himself and kick their asses himself...or with his heralds probably... maybe Tyrant will feel some old pangs of loyalty and come help out

This is my theory for the final fight with Aegis & Tenebrous, which btw is actually coming after Annihilation:

So okay, Annihilation is over, Annihilus is beat. This is what i see happenning. I see Galactus and Surfer and Firelord still out of it. Then the rest of the heralds, Stardust, Red Shift, and Terrax i see attacking Aegis and Tenebrous on their own, and getting whooped, but holding out for a few pages. Then Galactus and Surfer and Firelord waking up from whatever kinda coma their in, and coming to help out the rest of the heralds, and i see Galactus giving all the heralds powerups, and then sacrificing himself to defeat Aegis & Tenebrous, and passing down his mantle to the Silver Surfer. Thats my guess. It's not very probable, but hey, it'd be cool.

And dont get your hopes up about Tyrant. I think Galactus is gonna die and pass down his mantle because of the series coming out soon. There's only two herald/Galactus-related issues coming out after Annihilation with the Aegis/Tenebrous stories, and their all about Firelord, Surfer, Stardust, Red shift, and Terrax. Galactus isnt mentioned, so i assume he'll be dead, and Tyrant isnt mentioned either, so dont get your hopes up about him coming back. If he was to come back im pretty sure they'd give him his own series.

And btw, about Quasar, he'll definitely be back since he's getting his own 6-issue limited series after Annihilation and the herald stories are over.

Also, i hope they bring back Genis in Annihilation. I mean, it would make sense since in issue 2 they followed continuity with Genis being dead and all. And in the Handbook, it says "whether Genis is actually dead or alive remains to be seen", so if Genis returns in Annihilation to help out her sister and everything that would be really cool.
