the wrecking crew didn't really do anything at all to him. all of them together+hyde+tiger shark STILL couldn't beat a HEAVILY DRUGGED hercules. it took a surprise attack from goliath--who was a friggin beast--to finally net the victory.so yeah. herc rocks. 😎
and yet from Hercules own mouth said he took the worst beating from them. 😬

Hey, I'm going off just what K-M- said, my memory is a bit fuzzy regarding some stuff of that era.
What I said is correct, Hercules stated as such in the scans I posted

i'm not denying that he said it. it just doesn't make sense. he was barely awake when they piled on him. goliath was the only one who did any real damage to that drugged version. i never really got why they focused on the wrecking crew in all that. they did no more than hyde.

Mjolnir like weapon or not, Hercules will never be on par with Thor. Case and point:Sorry Leo, maybe if Marvel has a reboot.
i never denied thor had innate power. give herc a weapon equal in power though and those innate powers wouldn't much matter. thor has ALWAYS been a god though. herc, not so much. if they rebooted it wouldn't matter. herc will always be what he is, and that's the way i like it, and thor would never change because that's always what he's been. thor's cool--one of my faves--but can be a walking plot device what with all his innate powers plus the hammer. herc is much simpler.

off-panel? i guess it's possible but after they wrapped him and he broke out he CERTAINLY wasn't worried. it was goliath who did the damage from behind and who pretty much ko'd him. the last sight he had was of the crew and hyde, but the damage was undeniably done by goliath, so regardless, i have no idea why the crew was the focus later on.

in the scans i posted Hercules wasnt ko'ed until the Crew started to pound on him. Or like I said more happened off-panel, doubt they would have stopped just after one punch each. The scans I posted indicated they didnt.

your scan was a dream/flashback. the scan i showed is what actually took place.

looks pretty clear he's out, but maybe he's still partially awake and they roll him over and keep on beating on him, but again, it doesn't change the fact that it was goliath who did the real damage. focus on the crew (as oppsoed to hyde) never made sense to me, and likely never will. at least he DID go after goliath later on.....

He wasnt as shown in my scan, and clearly it wasnt as Hercules from his own mouth said the crew did the worst damage.

except..... he never said that. he said he was never as helpless as he was before them. how was he rendered so helpless.......?
goliath. i'm not sure how this is even contestable. you can speculate that somehow--off-panel--he wasn't actually completely out, and that they (hyde AND the crew) beat on him AFTER the starch had been knocked out of him. that's all fine and good, but i don't see how anyone can look at the scans and not say it was goliath who did the real damage. it was the combined assault of ALL the strongest members of the masters that rendered him comatose.
but, see it however you'd like.

Goliath took the fight out of Hercules but it's the Wrecking Crew that beat him to a bloody pulp.
yep, them and hyde AFTER goliath attacked from behind and beat him up enough to allow them to do so. 👆

Actually he did in the second scan I posted 😕 Ummm...are you messing with me? as he specifically said "Ne'er before was Hercules as helpless as he was before the wrecking crew...ne'er before has he tasted such a bitter defeat! T-They beat me...almost unto death" He was even having nightmares specifically about the Crew...it's pretty clear cut leo 😬
On-panel statements and what was shown support the fact the Crew did the most damage and the fact is why he lost his mojo from the Crew themselves....as stated by Hercules. Goliath got Hercules to the point, but once again AS STATED the Crew did the most damage. That's on-panel statement from the man himself.
in case anyone is thinking i'm delusional:

and a non-drugged hercules and goliath?

and that is what you call ownage......

on panel statements yes--though it wasn't STATED they did the most damage. just that he was helples before them. that is a very distinctly different point. what was shown was clearly that goliath did the significant damage.
was it the crew and hyde who put him in a coma? yes, i never said otherwise. he WAS helpless before them and they DID pound on him. my original point was i don't know why he feared THEM. he was already mostly dead--all they did was beat on him. why he feared them i have no idea, as opposed to hyde or goliath in particular. again, why the focus on the crew who basically beat up a dead man, i've no idea......

I ask again are you messing with me? "Ne'er before was Hercules as helpless as he was before the wrecking crew...ne'er before has he tasted such a bitter defeat! T-They beat me...almost unto death"
With all respect to the son of Zeus, I thought him beating Atlas like that, especially while mortal, was ridiculous. Erik at that point should have been as strong as immortal Hercules, perhaps stronger, from what I remember of the Thunderbolts run (Although that might be before he got repowered/powered up, it's been years though) but whatever.

yes, again, they beat him (and hyde as well) while he was nearly dead. are you denying that it was goliath who did the significant damage though?
