Character Ownage

It wouldn't be insane for Thor to get Worf Effected when dealing with the PF alongside his fellow Avengers and then in another confrontation do better on his own. Stuff like that happens all the time.

I'd laugh if Fraction Thor called the Phoenix a "flaming fiery bastard bird" or something and gave it the Asgardian Headbutt.

What I find the most amusing about this is that some, despite how stupid it sounds, will use this to argue that Thor's weak or something.

When I can count on one hand the number of mainstream heroes who would do as well as Thor did under the pen style of someone like Remender.

I wish getting beat up the raw Phoenix Force was the worst Thor had to worry about outside of his own comics.

Eh, generally, towards the climax/finale of these events, they wind up having Thor either take on the big bad or contribute a great deal toward the final resolution of said event.

After this showing, you can only go up, so Thor doing better in a subsequent fight would basically amount to...him not getting one shotted.

But from that, to saying "hope Thor gets at least an advantage on it", as if this was close and showed Thor could content with it, it's a long way, filled with delusions.

Maybe one of Thor's attacks will hurt it, but he most certainly won't get an advantage, not without a plot device or amp.

True, but Thor's not that important in this particular storyline. Well, he's important, but he isn't completely vital to the plot.

How does the set up for Avengers vs. X-men work? Who's writing the finale?

I think it's just a collab between Bendis, Fraction, and others.

I don't understand what part of my post you found unclear.

Do I need to dumb it down for you or something? Were the words too big?

Thor got beat up, true, but a second fight could potentially occur under a writer with a completely different outlook on things and power levels. And I can give you a long detailed list of Thor fighting enemies that have gone from giving him trouble to outright punking him only for the tables to turn.

Now I don't expect Thor to ever beat the Phoenix, I never did, but expecting him to put up a better fight is extremely reasonable. The likely hood of it might be debatable but the former isn't.

Regarding the battle, Thor's not as limited as Superman, he doesn't have to tank everything on the chin (Mjolnir has far better defenses) and hadn't even unleashed any offensive attacks, was simply holding it at bay during their encounter.

And to clarify, I meant momentarily. Thor's destined to lose this fight for the event to continue, that's always been the case.

F*ck him, I was very explicit but comprehension has never been one of Philo's strong points. If he diverges into his usual masturbatory Superman shit, I just won't reply tbh.

That's funny coming from you.

Not a bad showing.

Colossus was basically owning and then suddenly powered down and wanted to lose.

I don't like this demonic mutation shit with Cyttorak's amp though.

There's a fine line between condescending and seemingly crying in fron of the monitor. You're not very good at the former.

He engaged the Phoenix and got one-shotted. "Beat up" doesn't really cover that.

Even with the terrible Marvel editors, you think that one writer will show Thor getting one-shotted, while another one will at least show him getting the advantage, in the same event?

Can you show me one of Thor knowing the threat level right from the start, engaging that opponent alongside a team, getting one-shotted badly, accepting that they're all about to die in the process - and then in the next fight, at least gain the advantage against the same opponent, solo?

No, it is not. As I said, he can only go up from getting one-shotted. But that's not what you said - you said you hope he "at least gets the advantage" the next fight.

That's delusional.

You're not very good at getting a rise out of people, either. I almost wanted to post an angry smilie face, just to make you feel better. Would it?

Love that Captain Britain was more G than even Thor. Head on into the Phoenix and ended up no worse the wear while Thor ended up in a full body cast 👆

More Brian is good for Marvel.

Also, those are some really durable ****ing fish.

The shockwaves of their punches didn't even come close to simply shredding their bodies.

😂

Yeah, good thing I'm the one that brought up Superman in this thread, out of butthurt at my favorite hero getting one-shotted.

You're just not very good at this, rage.

If you'd be rage, now you'd be hoping that next time they meet, Captain Britain at least stomps the shit out of Phoenix. 😂
