Mjolnir can definitely rock the Phoenix hard. Thor was injured in the first encounter but clearly not near death as "someone" suggested. It seems Thor takes on the Phoenix 3 times and in between those encounters fights a reborn Captain Mar-Vell and Noh-Varr. Pretty good overall.
Like I said earlier, the one thing Bendis has going for him is that he writes a badass Thor. I have no idea why he's so underwhelming in that other series.
... and they just completely ignore that one of the Avengers happens to have one of the premier energy absorption artifacts in the universe. smh
