If this is true, Gladiator>>>Thor. What comic is this?

AVX . The latest big-ass Marvel event of epic garbage proportions .

Btw , Gladiator isn't >>> Thor .

Aside from Annihilation, what's the last good, full-blown event Marvel's had in recent years?

Nothing comes to mind...

I liked Civil War except for a few parts, but that was short before Annihilation. And Shadowland but that wasn't a real big event.

Spider-Island was actually pretty good, imo.

Nothing comes to mind because Marvel has really tanked (storyline wise) these past few years. AvX has surpassed Chaos War as the biggest turd Marvel has ever produced and like another poster said, we're not even at the half way mark yet! 😘

That's more a Spiderverse event but yeah it was fun and for a Spider-man fan wanktastic.

I'll have to read Spider Island sometime...

Shadowland was okay, but I'm talking more about large-scale events.

Most of the best events/cross overs Marvel's put out have been confined to like a single character or shared line of books, yeah.

Honestly, I blame most of the crap on Bendis. The guy's been in charge of Marvel's biggest cash-cow (The Avengers franchise) for way too long and should have gracefully bowed out during the Heroic Age. Fraction isn't helping any, either. He should have stayed on Iron Man back when he was writing Eisner Award winning material.

Agreed.

Where single books are concerned, I still believe that S.H.I.E.L.D. is superior to anything Marvel is publishing these days... With F4/FF coming in at a close second/third respectively *thanks Hickman*.

...Then there's a few feet of shit.

...Then there's Avengers Academy.

...Then there's 20 feet of more shit.

...Then there's all the other crap they're publishing.

IMHO.

I'd really like to see Hickman or Waid take over Avengers after Bendis finally leaves.

Is it an odd coincidence that SHIELD , F4 and FF are all written by Hickman ? Btw , Manhattan Projects is also pretty good , at least from the reviews that I have read .

I might become a fan if that were to happen.

Lets face it... Hickman is the shit.

I agree on the FF books, great moments, like when Reed traveled through time with his dad and watched time pass by and Ben Grim get older and die. Or Spider-man's time with Franklin after Johnny "died".

They go for the cash grab. Joey Q has said repeatedly that critical acclaim is great and all, but critical acclaim < sales. I think his time at Valiant plays a lot into his thinking.

If they allow me to take over instead of Way I guarantee that Deadpool's sales will increase x2 in only 8 months and the character will become popular and loved again.

Gotta agree, since Annihilation we've got Hickman and Spider-Island, pretty much all the other great runs -such as Pak's Incredible Hercules- have died since. I suppose it's worth mentioning that Brubaker's Cap was still hot after Civil War, but it's more tame now.

Avengers has been a deception for years now, I almost feel like becoming a FF fan instead.

Hilarious. Just found out that I already have Spider Island downloaded, and didn't even know it.

Will be reading soon.

^Its a fun read 👆

Reading a few Amazing Spider-man books before the event helps to understand it better. Not to mention that since like ASM 600 all books were pretty awesome. The gauntlet, grim hunt etc.

Slott managed to fix Spider-man after the whole BND crap. Love him for that.
