This event RUINED the Xmen. Nothing will ever be the same again, especially for Cyclops. They need to kill him off for a bit and put Emma, Namor, Colossus, etc, in a prison for a long time. They do NOT need to be in any comic any time soon after this event.

I agree but at least the damage during that period was fixable. What's happening now...I can't think of a way to fix the damage that has been done. Marvel has ruined Scott, made him look weak mentally. This event is soooooooo out of character that its ridiculous.

Well, like someone else posted, Emma had a telepathic affair w/ Namor. Scott cheated on Jean (with Emma) much in the same way. So, it's to be expected. Despite how much Emma might care for Scott, cheating and seduction is in her nature. It's comic book karma. 🙂

That was different. Scott and Jean were largely estranged, and he was in a very vulnerable place when he and Emma became involved. That, and Emma had fallen for him.
This... Marvel just doesn't like them being together, it seems.

They're doing this for a reason. They want the mutants at their all-time lowest, so they can be redeemed by their former selves from the past. At least, that's what I think they're planning. My sense is that young Scott, Jean, etc. will be so appalled at what they've become or what has transpired of late, that they'll somehow change the present.

Sure, the circumstances were different, but, even so, he still cheated on Jean. Karma doesn't make excuses -- even in the comics it would seem. "What goes around..."
They might still get back together though.
