I thought that it exploded , and its "dispersed" power ended up repowering the mutants , creating new "Lights" . Or at least that's what the cuckoos' cerebra scan indicates .

Also , was't it mentioned in the closing pages of the issue that the Phoenix was no more ?

I haven't got my issue yet , so I am only relying on spoilers from Newsrama and CBR .
