Ok. I was told to cut being snarky and I did. I didn't know however that I was told not to quote somebody's post in this thread. I would create the thread.

If you think that is nuts for a high herald you probably don't know what high herald is.

They can survive Black Holes, causally blow up planets as a side effect of an attack, go into suns, hurt cosmic entities that can wipe out galaxies, contain big bangs, traverse the universe in seconds.

This is an insanely impressive feat yes, but I could see a writer easily putting Hulk, to a lesser extent Thor, Captain Marvel, Black Adam in the same situation and have them pull it off, and I wouldn't be going OMG they are now the strongest Heralds ever!!!

That being said this isn't a place to argue over scans this is a character ownage thread, obviously Superman was doing some serious ownage in that scan. Talk about the ownage and move on to the next. If you want to debate the implications of that scan in a vs fight do it in a thread for it like Hulk vs Superman or Captain Marvel vs Superman or Thor vs Superman.

Thank you

Wow, this post was really unnecessary and sounded a little bit patronizing if you were serious and directing it at me. I never said it's impossible for any other high herald to bench the Earth, simply giving props to what was a very impressive feat. You don't see many clean strength feats such as this these days, not at planetary level at least.

Lol...da**, how did you guess that. Yes, the ft is AMAZING...I think I looked at it at least 8 or 9 times. Love fts like this, no matter the character. As of right now, Superman strength is non debatable, he is ALMOST the strongest there is (I would still put WWH above him). I don't have an argument for Gladiator being as strong as this version of Superman and I am trying to understand why people are even arguing the fact that anyone else in the high Herald tier is approaching this level of strength Superman showed in those scans...that ft was insane.

By the way, all of what I've said isn't directed towards you sundip.

Same here.

And then they decide to make an event with the entire purpose of abitrarily deciding to kill off characters. And for what? To put over Arcade's jobber ass ala Battle Royal?

It's a shit concept that completely undoes significant character development in order to draw in "fans".

I'm pretty confused how they're planning on justifying Laura trying to kill Hazmat when they've been bonding etc.
I guess there's always trigger scent...

Although the idea sounds bad, I'm kinda hoping AA is good, because it's got Cammi in it and she rocks.

So hopefully it won't just be the snuff book it sounds like.

I'm pretty sure the creative team has outright said they're planning to kill quite a few characters off in this. And that said deaths are basically the selling points of this series.

The overall concept strains credulity. If the AA student body went missing Pym wouldn't have Cap on the phone the instant they found out, and the Avengers would track them down before lunch time. Still I'm sure it will be entertaining.

Super villains need to actually engage in super villainy from time to time. Bank robbery, and foiled plots to take of the world only account for so much. Eventually people need to die. Real world criminals shouldn't be more frightening than the comic variety... they have the super moniker in front of the villain title for a reason. At least with this cast of characters we can hold on to some pretense that they might stay dead for a while and their deaths will mater.

Plus you know, it's not like Arcade has the smarts to hide an entire island from the likes of Pym/Stark.

I can agree to this to a point.

I do think villains need to "win" or do some horrific villainy in order to establish their threat level and show us that yes, these battles between good and evil matter.

I just think this specific concept is pretty dumb and isn't being sold for being a good story with heavy tones and development, but rather just a free-for-all in which some of these characters are going to be killed off.

I agree it sounds like a forced Battle Royal homage to capitalized on the success of the Hunger Games... because that's what it is.

I don't really have an opinion on Hopeless as a writer. I liked Legion of Monsters alright I guess but it wasn't anything special. This book looks like it will be an art showcase, and on that grounds it already looks successful. Those pages are amazing. I'll probably read it for the art, unless the writing is exceptionally terrible.

I think Kang should conquer Earth again!
